It has been brought to my attention that the Funk section is in severe condition. The majority of the files are awful, and the section isn't getting the respect it so rightfully deserves---to the point where we are using it as a trivial place to store subscriber songs. New Funk songs should definitely be added to the game.

Very Grave Indeed

Try contacting the Pocket Dwellers. Here's their website or here on their Myspace
They're a canadian band from Toronto, and signed onto Bluenote, which, while a subsidiary of EMI (and thus attached to a HUGE top label) I'm pretty positive that Bluenote has its own autonomy, and if the Pocket Dwellers have -any- say in what their own music gets used for, I think they'd be -very- happy to get involved with FFR. A friend of mine worked with them on their first album when they were all still in college, and they're a very active band doing gigs at schools and bars, and have always seemed like real laid back guys. Worth firing off an e-mail anyway. |

I suppose I'm "half-serious", as I would like to see some more funk.

i don't think it's possible to make an extremely difficult funk song. the nature of funk doesn't lead itself to be fast or extremely complicated in layering.

I agree with Tassel. I think that it is impossible.

This is a custom title.

There is also a ton of jazz fusion with funk elements that would lead to awesomely hard stepcarts. Not that we can get permission for any of it... Oh, and also the songs would be obscenely long for a stepfile.

Half serious here.
Is there anything in funk over a level 6? Can we have some REAL funk? I doubt stuff like Let Mom Sleep is funk. |

Yeah, some of the clarinet solos in some Dixieland Jazz numbers are downright crazy.

I had stepped a funk song a bit back. It got rejected for massive 110 BPM 32nd trills though, lolol. Maybe I should make it more friendly while keeping it a Difficult or higher...
But yeah, we do, it's almost pointless to have a Funk genre with how few songs we have in it. Heck, even Hip-Hop is getting more songs as of late. Joking thread or not, I still think we do >.> Last edited by SulferDragon; 10-22-2007 at 06:33 PM.. |

Can we have some funk songs that don't take a decade to finish?
