Anyway, I was playing Center field for my team. Jay Cox was up, and he was known for cranking the ball to left center. As such, my coach moved me way over toward left. Sure enough, he pops one way up and pretty deep straight to me. I get underneath it, but it just so happens that from left field to home plate is directly below the 5:30 sun. The ball, at the apex of its flight, is smack dab in the middle of it, though. I keep on it, yell to everyone that I've got it, and then it suddenly disappears. I'm still standing where it's going to fall with my glove ready, and I've heard reports that I then said, "I lost it," but instead of moving my head out of the way of my glove to look for the ball, I moved my glove an inch or two to the left. The ball came down completely unobstructed and connected with my right eye. I knew what had happened, so I turned around and fell to my hands and knees, then proceeded to beat the ground while yelling, "I missed the ball, I missed the ball," in anger. It didn't hurt because the contact deadened the nerves in that side of my face, but later that night in the hospital it sure hurt. Turns out that I got a hyphema (blood filling up inside my eye) and had to miss a week and a half of the last month of seventh grade so that it could heal.

2 years ago, I was at work and we were training some of the new people....we needed to move this big stack of lumber, and one of the new guys gets on top of this stack, and from about 2 feet off the ground, kicks a 200 lb massive wooden post directly onto my ankle...it swelled up and turned purple all within about 10 seconds, and i had the darkest purple bruise you will ever see that last for almost 2 months, along with a dent in my bone that you can feel *_*

he didn't come back the next year, lol.

I've only had my ankle broken, well, kinda almost torn off my leg from being hit by some orange city-worker truck in 1st grade. Out of school for 4 months, then in a cast for like 3-4 more. I kind of had a slight chance to never be able to walk/run again.

School friend, Two years ago, was walking ... yes, just walking. Theres this big tree at our school. Anyway, it was lunch time, and this MASSIVE leaf off the tree just FELL and smacked his head. I was RIGHT NEXT TO HIM gosh I was so lucky o.o

And me... Lol, was doing this PDHPE running thing, and I was beating my friend, by several metres. I looked behind, puffing, and laughed at him. Looked forward again, and the next thing I knew, a big grey hard titanium pole smashed into my face. It wasn't a pleasant sight.

this thread is so fun to read, but here are my tragedies.

- in 4th grade i was playing soccer and i was the team's goalie. so theres this guy charging towards me getting ready to kick, he kicks and goes to the far left of me, i dive for it, and this was a good 4 ft in the air, and i flew so fast, i hit my head on the goalpost, theres still blood on it.

- also in 4th grade, i was running down this path, which was a little steep, and my "friend" pushed me, and i fell into a bonfire pit, but not just wood and garbage, nah.. it has broken beer bottles, glass everywhere, and there was poison ivy EVERYWHERE! for about 2 months i was itching. oh my god, sleeping sucked.

- in 7th grade my best friend was sitting beside me, but someone was in between us (hehe bad grammar), and he went to punch him in the arm because hes cool like that, but at that time he brought his head down to eat, and my friend wacked me across the face, and he hit me HARD. funny as **** though.

- in 8th grade i was on a trampoline and i did a front flip, but turned into a suicide dive, almost broke my neck.

- not too long ago, i have stubbed my toe at LEAST 40 times, no joke, and i think my toe is the weakest bone in my body now, its as brittle as crushing a toothpick.

- this is one hell of a lol factor for me. i was running and my friend was trying to warn me of a huge billboard that was so freaking close to the ground, and i didnt care about him so i ran and hit my head on the billboard. LOL.

- i was bullied alot in my old school, back in england, 1 day these sons of a bitches had a great idea to throw rocks at me, 1 HUGE one that size of a softball hit my head, had a concussion and a meaning in life, to get revenge.

- around that same time, i was riding my bike and the ice cream guy came into our street, i was happy and i got myself a big ice cream cone, double vanilla with 2 chocolate wafers with strawberry candy. :P anyways, these 4 guys, roughly 4 years older than me, made fun of me for no reason, i didnt say anything, but they called me a pansy for good manners to the ice cream guy, and wearing a helmet... so then i tell them to piss off, because i couldnt care less what they do, so then they chase me, i jump on my bike and ride down the culdesack, it was around a 20 second walk from my house, but 1 guy had soccer shoes, the ones with studs on the bottom, and he hit me on the back of my head and back, really hard, i fell forward and faceplanted into the gravel. my step dad almost killed them bastards...

- i was playing hide and seek, a year or too before my previous injury, and i tried to climb and jump over a chain-linked fence, i got to the top and i jumped, but my foot was caught in one of the links, i flew down 10ft, face first into rocks.

- broke my elbow from skateboarding, i ollied (jumped) on my skateboard and fell forward and my elbow hit the ground first.

hmmm...maybe when I was around 5 years old, I was sitting with my friend in the back of his dad's car. We were poking holes in a TMNT gummy wrapper.....with his dad's pocket knife. He went inside to get snacks (or something like that), and I ended up stabbing my thumb with the knife. I was terrified of needles and the word blood for at least 3 years after that.

Looking back, all I have to say to myself is: WHY THE HELL DID I PUT MY THUMB OVER THE PLACE WHERE THE KNIFE WAS GOING TO GO THROUGH? It seems pretty funny now.

When I was 16 I had gone to some cliffs on the coast, and my friends and I would jump into the water -- nothing too dangerous. One of the cliffs I jumped off of was higher than I thought because I hadn't inspected it first --- holy CRAP was that ever stupid. I almost killed myself -- the drop was like three times higher than I thought it'd be. I was scared out of my mind and thought I was going to die, but luckily all I got was the wind knocked out of me and a bloody nose. I was shaken the rest of the day.
