What happens is that it'll generally only read the top note only.

Like, say you have a bassline that's playing the C5 key and in a different pattern the same bassline playing a E4 key at the same time. It will play the C5 key only.

What happens is that when you make two instruments, it's like like two separate parts playing two different notes, not one part attempting to play two notes at the same time. In the electronic music world, multiple instruments playing the same part to support the general sound is called "layering"

So, basically, you're layering your bassline to make it sound stronger.

I thought that is strictly a plugin limitation, and only for some? I don't notice any problem if I layer in, say, Vanguard, by using the same track.

This bass is sounding tight. Boosting it also REALLY brought out what was once some very subtle filter fluxuations. Tight.

For some it is, for some it isn't.

It mainly has to do with the way Vanguard handles tracks. Considering it's a multi-voice plugin, it can do that. Mutli-voice basically means that you can play more then one note at a time without it screwing up.

Okay, check it out. It has been updated. If you don't hear hi-hats during the opening, you'll need to clear your cache.

Wooh! Awesome!

I'm glad people are volunteering. I can work on some lyrics, but do you think you'd be able to figure out a tune and rhythm for the chorus and verses? I think it would be better to bring a new perspective to the song. Anyways, add me on MSN if you have it: drsane_@hotmail.com

Oh man your mixing on this track is so much improvement over your last tracks.

The thing is, now that you have nice, full bass, your kick is flat. VERY flat.

Boost around 50 Hz for your kick and see how it sounds. Just make sure that it's not the same frequency that's boosted as the bassline.

EDIT: And why are you still using FL4? It doesn't have automation clips or ParaEQ2.

Speaking of which, you still need to get back to me on the rap song >_>

But to post something on topic, I really like this song. Can't wait to see lyrics to it. I'm going to see if I can get any decent sounds out of my microphone now.

EDIT: Well, I figured out how to use the vocoder, but my current recording device sucks, so I'm going to have to research if I can get a decent microphone for cheap (Probably not though xD)

Hmm, the kick's totally unprocessed. Rofl. I completely forgot about it.

I'll look into it right now.

Edit: Updated. Tell me how that sounds.

And glad to hear you're on it Valtrix. Gogogo!

Still sounds good =]

I dont have msn, just AIM.

I dont normally like writing lyrics for someone else's songs, but if you give me a general idea for lyrics, i can do something up.

and were you actually looking for full song - verse/chorus/verse/etc, or just like words/lines scattered throughout it?

I was thinking actual phrases for the verses, but only scattered words during the chorus. I've never done vocals before, so sorry but I'm terribly new to the idea.

YOU GUYS ARE NOT GOING TO ****ING BELIEVE THIS....

Tay Zonday. The REAL Tay Zonday. The famous vocalist who has been on Opera and many other talk shows just sent me an e-mail saying he WANTS TO SING MY SONG LIVE AND MAKE MONEY OFF OF IT TOGETHER. Here, I'll let the e-mail speak for itself.

Quote:
Holy **** that's awesome. You are a fantastic producer.

I'd love to lay lyrics and vocals over that and put it on Youtube/MySpace.

I'm cool in it being totally public domain if you want it to be . . .
but I'll be honest with you: I will probably be interested in performing
it live and/or different media might take interest in licensing it . . .
in which case there could be royalty money to be made if we both
registerd it as 25% songwriter/publisher (50% share for each of us) with
ASCAP.

It is possible to release the song for free under a Creative Commons
noncommercial license, then if major dance clubs and/or media want to
use it . . . there is still potential income from ASCAP.

-Tay
This is ****ING INCREDIBLE. I checked out the e-mail address and everything. This is 100% legit. WHAT THE **** IS THIS ****.

**** FFR! It may not even be able to go in FFR anymore if it's being sold to different media. I'm sorry, but I choose that over FFR any day.

Uh he would be a ****ty vocalist for anything electronic. Male vocalists in general should be banned from the electronic genre.

And yeah the kick is much better now.

What? No! He's an awesome singer. Great voice. With some fancy vocoding, it might really add to the track. I'm confident he can definitely take the track in its own direction.

I still might want to see how this goes over with female vocals too though.
