![]() Right now in FFR, I'll be using all the dance 2 songs as examples.. (Very Diff/Very Challenging ones) not sympathizer or crowdpleaser..etc
But I get roughly a dozen or so misses, on a good day maybe just 5 or 6, And.. like 120+ goods. So my question is there a certain point in the game where you just start nailing perfects more and more often? Because I'm tired of getting over a 100 goods and 2 dozens of averages. I'm pretty good at keeping a combo going most the time. But this part always gets me. And if I try to focus on getting perfects I lose the combo. |

![]() I use 1.75x on every song.. I don't know what screen cut is, if you mean that thing where you put the screen half way. Then no, cause it's impossible when playing 1.75x o_o

![]() I found that the game is so much better for me at 1.25x
I managed to get UNknown Girl (after weeks of trying) from MAX Forever using 1.25x |

![]() It takes time, patience, and perseverance. Over time you're skills at hitting arrows(better timing, etc.) will become better.

![]() Practice practice practice.
The more you play, the more comfortable you are reading arrows and tapping your fingers, the more natural the game is, the better you score.

![]() Yeah in time you'll get better. I'ts taken me 2 and a half years to be able to get high combos and good accuracy on masters songs and at least accuracy and some combo on guru's. For both stepmania and ffr, it's taken a bit. Your fingers just need to adjust better to keeping an even more constant rythem.

![]() ..i really don't think 1.75 is good for songs that are difficult +..because the arrows just comes too quickly and my brain is too slow. best if you try screencut
(yes, screencut is where you show only a part of the screen), but turn off 1.75x i forgot to mention that XD.

![]() A skilled player helped me when I asked the same thing, and Im in your shoes too.
He said firstmost, if youre gonna be getting the extreme songs, make sure you play spread, etc. You can only reach a certain amount of skill with 1handed-3fingers. Then its about making the notes a reflex. Get so comfortable with playing that hitting a certain note is like second nature, you dont really have to focus on it to hit it correctly. Once you get this down, you cant start solely practicing timing. Get down your comfortability, then start working on Full Combo, then timing for SDG/BF/AAA, etc. |

![]() Here's my advice:
1. If you're already using 1.75x, move it down to 1.5x speed. 2. Focus your eyesight on just one specific spot of the screen, probably about 1 or 2 inches down from the arrows on top. That's usually the frame-rate for perfects. 3. Learn to combo harder/faster songs first. Trying to get very good PA or AAA songs that are just about at your limit to full combo will become much easier if you learn harder songs. Example: Learn to hit Vertex Beta's stream and it'll be extremely easy to hit + PA Tension's stream. 4. Movements of your fingers will subconsiously get better over time. There are many different variety's of BPM's so it takes your fingers time to adjust to the speed perfectly. That's just about all the advice I can give. Good luck to you and all other players with your same problem. |

![]() I'm not really a skilled player, but I joined less than three months ago, so thatīs ok. Still, let me try to explain ways to get better at ffr. First of all, simply practice...donīt go to difficult songs too fast, because you will only get skilled at mashing
![]() After like a month, you will be ready for very difficult songs and I must confess that I still, after much practice, am on that level. Sure, I can FC some challenging songs, but you will run into difficulties that keep bugging you. For me, itīs long streams (god I hate CIA Rave, Z, Uber Rave etc.), for some people it's trills or jump streams. When you know what to improve, work on it and try to figure out patterns. Don't worry about PA too much, that's something of later concern. Technique is a real concern, however. There's no ideal way of playing, so you should find finger positions or customize your keys to get a comfortable way of playing. At first, one handed might seem most handy, cause you're used to onehanded for all sorts of games where you need to use the mouse as well. However, although some one-handers are pretty good, I think two handed is a prereq for great skill generally speaking. There's a lot of variation in two-handed styles...you can use 2 indexes, two indexes and two middle fingers, finger 234 on one hand, 2 or 3 of other hand, etc., find out what suits you best. Then practice and make your moves feel natural. For me personally, a big step forwards was using speed mods. Don't use them too quickly, because you will have to elarn to read the arrows fast in the first place. At higher difficulties, things can get messy and recognizing patterns and being able to understand them against the background of the rythm of the music is essential. Using 1.50x speed is ideal for me, but a lot of players use 1.25x or 1.75x...the higher speeds are simply insane and I wouldn't recommend them. Screen cuts can be nice, but they aren't necessary. Never use speed mods AND screen cut, it's ineffective. You will find that a combination of a comfortable 2-h style, steady practice and working on technical difficulties really helps to raise your level. Don't expect to come the next mrrubix right away (or ever, for that matter, he's simply too good lol), have patience. There are 12 difficulty levels...try em all to see what lies ahead and what you can expect to encounter, but concentrate on songs that are challenging, yet easy enough to get a grip on. On a last note: don't let messy patterns confuse you, often the rythm and melody of the song provides useful clues..I have worked my way through some sections relying on auditive info, barely actually reading the notes. Remember it's a MUSIC game, not just a speed-with-keys trick. Right, I'll shut up now ![]() Calli

![]() I agree with the people who say move your speed down to 1.5x, it's way too fast, I only play on 1.5x, 1x is too slow and 1.75x is too fast (I didn't even bother with 1.25x, what's the point?). Then it takes ALOT of practice, when I first started on FFR a year ago I was able to standard songs immediately and pass challenging/difficult songs with like 50 combo. My PA sucked. Good PA comes with that practice, when I first started out I went into MP and played my favorite song Playdoh with someone and they FC'ed it and I thought if someone can do that then they're the master of the game, same thing with Hyper Pressure :P. I have AA'd those songs and my PA is greatly improving, it takes practice. I don't know how you play but I just use my two index fingers and it works fine for me. Don't use screen cut, I don't get why people do... and if someone can elaborate on that I'd like to know because I really don't see the purpose :P.

(I'm not dissing speedmods or anything. It's just that the current framerate that FFR is running on makes the speedmods not so great as it should be.) but to answer the OP's question: practice practice practice! ...a bit of StepMania helps as well ![]()
