Trust me, I'm a metal head. I probably know more about metal than you can ever dream about. But I don't dig people spewing crap about other people's music tastes, purely because it's not what you like.

If it's the music that makes them happy then so be it. We have enough problems keeping our freedoms from the government; the last thing we need is to start chastising each other based on their personal choices.

I have yet to hear any mainstream emo music, but personally, I think the emo culture is bad enough. He's probably trying to completely associate the music with the culture, which may not be necessarily true.
