Actually OrganisM, Vista would make it run slower.

I'd assume you'd know the increased specifications needed to run Vista, so if he used the same hardware and went from XP to Vista, it'd run considerably slower.

Exactly. So your computer should be able to run Vista just fine, because the hardware has to support the OS for the OS to come pre-packaged.

Umm..

Aero, Vista's default theme, is VERY graphic intensive. It takes up a LOT of ram when you use it. It has all that flashy stuff, like the menus, transparency, etc. It's really nice and all, but it will slow down even decent computers. For instance, the MMO I play on Vista, is very choppy and visually laggy, on a 2 year old computer with 4gb or ram. But on this computer (windows xp with 2gb of ram) the game runs fine.

So to fix your problem, turn of Aero (google it if you don't know how) or switch to like, windows xp theme.

My home PC is the same way with Vista...lags horribly
But I'm running XP in my room and the computer itself sucks, but FFR runs great lol.

I know it's processor/ram intensive. No ****.

Who says that Vista is always the problem? You're missing a lot of variables, and you don't even know the complete specs of one PC vs. another.

Actually, guys, I believe Vista has excellent options for virtual memory, so complaining about not having enough ram or graphics to run it shouldn't really be a major issue.

Actually, he's right. Vista is a BEAST! You need at least 1gig ram to operate efficently, more would be better.
I'm running 1 gig on the home PC with Vista, and it's still slow.
