Update: WarioWare
Type: Stage
Summary: Basically it looks like you play in and out of warioware minigames, and it was stated that you might get something in the match if you can accomplish those minigames while fighting

IMO: not bad, but i want to see some of the old wario stuff, not all warioware. we have the costume, bike, and stage. so at least an AT or item.

Gliding
"Characters like Pit, Meta Knight and the Pokémon Trainer’s Charizard are envied at first glance for their wings.

Rumor has it they can use those wings to sail through sky like gliders. But that can’t be true, can it?

They… They’re really flying!

Magnificent!

From the perspective of the rules of Smash, I sense that mastering this skill could be quite beneficial. That is, IF you can master it...

First, do a midair jump!

If you continue holding the jump button, you’ll start gliding.

You don’t have to hold down the jump button, though. At the peak of your midair jump, you can also rapidly tilt the Control Stick backward to forward to link the jump to a glide.

Tilt the stick down (or forward) to angle down.

Tilt the stick up (or back) to aim high.

Since it’s glider-style flight, you fly based on how you’re angled. You can control both your angle and your speed by pitching your "nose" up or down.

You can’t change direction, though, so be careful!

If you stall out in midair or get attacked, your flight will get cancelled. "

seem to be getting a character a week.
wonder what tomorrow's update will be?

need either music, POKEBALL ADD(horribly needs update), game mode

but a character would be cool too.

Exclamation Wavedashing confirmed with video trailer?

Wavedashing confirmed for Super Smash Brothers Brawl as shown in official trailer?

K watch this video:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=QvWydHp7FC8

Pay close attention to Metaknight at 0:57 - 0:59.

He slides, or what others like to call it wavedash. Now I'm not saying it definitely is one, but let's just say it is lulz

How do you feel if Wavedashing is in the game? How would you feel if it's performed the same way as it was in Melee? Would you complain?

Well, IMO if wavedashing is in the game, and that is a wavedash I'd respect nintendo a lot more for listening and watching the avid fanbase that has been using this maneuver in huge tournaments. If wavedashing is performed the same though I feel people are still going to complain. Which is disappointing. However I don't want wave dashing to be an easy feat. I like it as a obvious sign of skill level. Last but not least, I wouldn't complain if it was in the game. Complaining is for losers.

Also keep in mind it's(57-59) definitely not a roll. As a roll would pivot the way your character is standing. He moves backwards and remains facing frontwards.

That's... a backwards dodge.

Have you never done a backwards dodge before? Or are you too busy exploiting glitches?

A backwards dodge does not exist. You're thinking of a roll. The only "dodge" you can do is a sidestep. Have you ever done a backwards dodge? No you haven't because it doesn't exist.

I'm either not thinking straight, or rolls definitely do NOT pivot your stance.
EDIT: Actually that looks like he's hopping backwards really quickly now that I've played it over and over 15 times. With a miniscule wavedashish thing at the end.
Definitely not hard evidence, but I don't really care either way.

Well I just tried it out. Frontal Rolls do pivot the way the character is facing. But backwards rolls leave the characters facing the way they were originally facing.

Yeah roll only pivots your stance when your facing a character and you roll behind them(thus your facing their back)

But, as in the video, if your back is toward the character and you roll behind them your facing their back but your still facing the same direction you were before you rolled.

Metaknight probably doesn't "roll" like other characters.

It could very well be a backwards roll. Cuz I tested it with mewtwo who's backwards wavedashes look the same as backwards rolls.

IT'S THE SAME FREAKIN' THING. ROLL, DODGE, WHO CARES.

As I recall, when you "ROLL" backwards facing right, you continue facing right post-"ROLL".

It sounds to me like you're reaching for wavedashing like it's your only means of victory in this game.

I simply made an observation but yet you keep bringing the same point up. Sorry, if I use the actual name for the actual maneuver. Golly, who ever would do such a thing.

And yes we know when you roll backwards you still face the way you were facing. It sounds to me like you think I solely rely on wavedashing. When I was merely pointing something out. Sup being closeminded lawl?

And using the word dodging when it's already in the game as something else and actually called dodging isn't the smartest. As it can be confused which it was because rolling and dodging are two completely different things. The people who care are the people who want to know if it was a wavedash or not. You clearly do not, but you continue to show us that you have no intentions of ever caring about anything competitive, when we really don't care about what you think lol. Especially when you post like that lawl.

Exploiting a glitch in the game isn't skill. The fact you are all hyped up when you sense that the same glitch that made you a step ahead of others in Melee might be in Brawl is what is annoying squeek.

Simple.

I get somewhat annoyed when people call wavedashing a "glitch." An exploit, yes, but all the systems involved are working exactly as intended.

The game is built so that residual momentum from landing is transferred into motion on the ground. You can air dodge at any point in the air. Wavedashing/landing simply combines the two, so that you air dodge as close as possible to the ground, and the residual momentum from the dodge carries you across the ground. Everything works. A "glitch" is when systems fail to work in the way they're intended. All the systems are working, they're just being combined to create the wavedashing effect.

Granted, it's not really that big of an issue. But "exploiting a glitch" sounds a lot more underhanded than "exploiting physics mechanics," which is what wavedashing does. Just a pet peeve of mine, that's all.

I don't really care whether or not wavedashing is brought to Brawl. It certainly makes matches in Melee a lot more fast-paced than it would be otherwise (since other types of motion are a lot slower), but I'm interested in seeing how the pace would be quickened if wavedashing didn't exist. I'll be happy either way.

If you don't want to play the way the pro players play. Don't. No one is forcing you to play the way they play. If you don't like it, that's your opinion. But complaining about it? That's completely retarded. And second off if you want to even call wavedashing a "glitch" you cannot say it doesn't require skill because it definitely does. If it didn't, a lot more people would do it if they knew about it.

Also who said I was hyped up? I simply posted about what I saw. An observation people. Ob-ser-va-tion.
