I think that if you're out of the ranking (you're ranked as one when you're obviously not number 1) you're stats don't show or something.

I guess that's why mine didn't show up either. OK then, how much do you have to play before this does work as a sig?

Until you can beat the first 150,000 people. Basically, about 20-40 games played or about 10,000,000 overall points I assume. It might be a little more.

Also, the ranks should be updated daily by LD (Lightdarkness) so play a lot and check in the morning. If your rank in-game shows up as something in the 10,000s or the 100,000s then your signature should start working.

According to the starting page for the game, at the moment I've played 26 games and scored about 3.4 million points. Because I'm a newbie, I basically stink. It will take a while to rack up enough points for the sig to work, I guess. But for some strange reason my overall rank is listed as 1. Is this a bug, a default value or something that a daily update will fix, does the ranking go backwards, or what? Just curious. Oh, can the sig stop working after you've gotten it once, like if more people beat your score and bump you further down the list?

It is a default value. That's just how you know you are not within the top 150,000 players. Synth originally had it as something else I believe. Maybe the way he encoded it causes all those who aren't in 150,000 show up as 1. Which is funny because the true number 1 (Jimerax) might be seen as a newb by those who know this rule but not Jimerax :P

If you were 150,000 and stopped playing only to have someone else pass you I would assume that you could lose signature privileges. Not to worry, once you get the signature you'll either be in the upper 5-digits or lower 6-digits (ie 75,000-125,000)

Start looking around at people's sigs for numbers close to 150,000 or at least 5 digits long to see what they needed to get there. Me, I've played 2,500ish songs and have almost 900,000,000 points at the time of this post and I'm 29th place. It's decent.

How can i get Alpha Helix level to work on my siggy? Or do only certain levels work?

Thanks for the info. I knew that there was no way in hell that a newbie like me could be first place. Maybe for a default value of the rank it could be changed to 0 though? At least to me, that would imply that I'm so bad that I'm not even worth ranking. So I get no rank, or zero. Having it at 1 could be slightly confusing, as we've indicated here.

I haven't seen too many sigs down on the lower end of the rankings yet so I'm not sure about where the cutoff is at the moment. Oh well, no worries. If I play when I have time, eventually I should have enough points to get the sig. It would be nice to have, but I'm not going to stress over it (I've got way more important RL things to worry about right now).

Well, I'm getting closer at least. At the moment, it's 70 games and about 11 million points. Maybe the minimum score is somewhat higher than that. But I think I'm starting to get the hang of some of these songs. Being familiar with the patterns and music is helping a bit.

Do you mean the overall rank on the main song selection screen of the game? That's still 1 so I guess I'm not there yet. Or did you mean the rank shown at the end of a game on the scoring page for a song? I thought that was just the rank for that song. I'm not sure that would correlate with overall rank which is what the sig needs.

Something of an aside, but will people get upset if I leave the sig code in and it remains broken for a while, until I score enough points? I can take it out and put it back in later, but it's easier just to leave it and let it work on its own. But that means forcing others to see a broken image link for a while and I'm not sure if that's a good thing to do.

That's what I meant. The little number in the bottom-right of the screen when you're on the menu.

LD is obviously slacking off from his work because according to statistics Wildman should be 4th now. Gosh LD.

I guarantee with a score of just about that much you will be able to use the siggy when the next update rolls through. According to LD it should be 2am tomorrow morning or so.
