Cool I was so cold...

Yesterday, I was in Sullivan Falls when I had a night trip in my uncle's cabin. While there, we took a little dip, but we did not put our entire body inside the water because it was so freakin' cold. Next thing you know, there is me, standing on a rock. I was about to jump in the water. I blessed myself before I did the unexpected. I jumped in the freezing water. It was 12 feet deep and it was like 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit. When I was in the water, I WANTED to get out as soon as possible. I almost had hypothermia! When I got out, my heart was throbbing. I think I did something no one else would have done.

I've jumped in a river at -4 Celsius.
Yes I know freezing is 0 but it was moving rather quickly.

32 F = 0 C

anyways its can be a real shock to your system if you just jump into really cold water, its not that its super cold its that your body can't adjust fast enough, if you move in slowly your body wont go into such a bad state

There are people that dive into very cold water and swim as a sport. It is actually good for you, makes your body go in a protect mode and adjust, in return, you wont really get sick if ever. Just gotta get used to the initial shock but once you get used to it, it is nothing to write about.

For example: just doing Cold shower in the morning gives you many benefits. Less likely to get a cold, being more alert, no longer hot if it is hot, or no longer cold if it is freezing(yes it works). Try it sometimes.

I used to do the cold shower thing in the winter time. It really does work. All my family members though I was an idiot though. Saves money too, less on the heating.

people do not catch the cold from cold weather or exposure to cold temperatures..colds come from viruses.. but your right though since some people's bodies homeostasis (which is the bodies ability to regulate its internal environment so as to maintain a stable, constant condition) is disrupted which can cause the immune system at the time to weaken and become easily infected by a virus.

Wow I wish I was smart like that. LOL But, just cause it can help you, doesn't mean you should just go jump in a freezing lake for fun. Though I'm sure if you taped it, put it on youtube, and told everyone about it. You'd be pretty e-popular.

Wrong. 0 degrees Kelvin has never been reached. That doesn't mean it's impossible.

what would be the point of reaching 0 Kelvin?

"oh im going freeze the sun by cooling it to 0 Kelvin *evil laugh*"

Scary enough but this would work.

I jump in a 40(can't find the little degree sign) lake every year at my family reunion for fun. It's as cold as hell but it's awesome and it shocks your senses.

Prove this too me. Thanks
DO NOT be ignorant it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach 0 kelvin since quantum mechanics forbids zero particle motion. Therefore, no material can be cooled to exactly 0 Kelvin.
Study your Quantum mechanics my friend.
