What, why'd you change the scoring system? The old one was so much better, I barely want to be in this anymore now. Oh well.

I changed it because mashing =/= good PA. Plus, it might tend to keep the scores a little bit closer.

or wait... it used to be perfects minus anything else, now it's perfects minus boos? What does this change?

Before it was just whatever your perfect amount was, that was your score. I changed it because I messed up my own scoring system. Xiao pointed it out.

It was:

# of notes in the song - goods - averages - misses (or just # of perfects)
Now it is:

# of notes in the song - goods - averages - misses - boos (or just # of perfects - # of boos)

Well, to me, the best thing about the old system was av misses not being so bad. I figure I pretty much only get goods and av misses, except on incredibly hard songs, and now av misses are -3, while goods are only -1, so I'm back to hitting stuff early again.

well, before, av misses were -2, which is still worse than -1. no?

Yes, but the more worse they are than goods, the more early I have to hit stuff to get the best possible probability of getting the best score.
