Shorthopping is in the game, air dodging is in the game, sliding is in the game. They basically created wavedashing. Just like when humans first created fire :P

Except fire isn't a glitch.

Fire just doesn't just happen, it takes, minimally, two different things to cause a fire.

Wave-dashing doesn't just happen, it combines short-hopping, air dodging, and sliding (From the moment the X or Y button is pressed, or the control stick is tilted far enough, you are considered to be in the air, even though the animation may not show it).

Now in relation to the footstool jump...

I can see this being abused XD (like Marth's F-air in SSBM >.<). If you save Yoshi's double jump, then you can essentially spike the person using multiple footstool jumps, then recover using his double jump and air dodging diagonally up if needed (I've heard his Up B now makes him cover horizontal distance?).

You don't even need to shorthop.

Seriously.

I do it on instinct, but you don't need to shorthop.

Ok, you technically don't have to shorthop, but you have to do some form of a jump for the game to register your character as being in the air, because you can't air dodge from the ground -_-

HEY! The game didn't tell you about short hopping or fast falling, so those must be glitches too, amirite?

You're using pretty flawed logic, there.

The instruction manual for one of my games doesn't say anything about there being a button you press to jump. Is jumping a glitch?

Wavedashing is a glitch because it's OBVIOUSLY not intentional. The game developers made every character have different speeds to balance them. When everyone moves the same speed, the balance of the game is shifted and most characters become obsolete.

You all are retarded. VIDEOGAMES AND LIFE ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
"What? ARE YOU ****TING ME?!!?!?!"

Yes!

In life you can combine one idea or action with another to come up with a new idea or an action. Its not like a game. You cant pull out your **** and piss on someones face in Smash Brothers, can you? No.
Thus you cannot compare life to games. A game has a set of rules that you play by. If you find something that allows you to go outside these limitations, you have found a GLITCH.

I'm almost positive that it was already mentioned that every character has a different wavedash depending on their weight etc.
All characters do not move the same speed while wavedashing and nothing is imbalanced that wouldn't already be in the first place.

Either way everybody should quit arguing or take it to PMs, this topic is about Brawl. It isn't titled "What moves in the game are suitable to be called unfair or glitchy?" Not to mention I've already seen this argument in previous smash brothers topics. It's really getting bothersome seeing the same argument surface up everywhere, and the very same argument going absolutely nowhere wherever it surfaces.

Wait man, why doesn't it tell me how to wavedash? Surely if the developers meant for it to be there they'd tell me! What is this balderdash?!
I'm using your logic, so unless you are saying that your logic is flawed, I think I am correct.

And out of curiosity, what game doesn't tell you how to jump?

Also, i think Sir Thomas may have broke a blood vessel typing that

EDIT: I didn't see chromer here. I think we have proven that you are in the air for at least one frame when you wavedash.

Oh goodness. Check out the newest smashbros.com update. Can you say 'new Fire Emblem character'?
Sure that means they're probably...well almost certainly dumping roy/marth, but Ike looks pretty damned awesome.
Also, pitfalls from Animal Crossing.
This game is going to be epic. And restating the obvious is obvious.

I'd say 90% chance that Roy and Marth are gone now and replaced by this merge of the two of them.

Pitfalls will be awesome though. Unless you're an anti-item whore.

ike is a very good addition to super smash bros brawl, i belive he is not gonna be very quick though , and the items i've seen so far are a very good reason to stop being anti-item

Items will remain off in tourney play almost definitely. So that's my reason for not playing with items.

As for Ike, Well I hope they also have marth and roy in the game too. The more fire emblem characters the better.

I'm not excited at all because I didn't even like SSBM. Nothing about either of the games seems special to me.

It's a pretty unique game. I dunno, a lot of people like it.
