I think you have to draw the line somewhere. Blackflags piss me off too, but an almost AAA is not an AAA, because an AAA is an AAA. Although I agree that partial credit should be allocated to blackflags because they're really freaking close. In other words, I echo Reach on this one.

I think doug said it best. A BF shows you're perfectly capable of the AAA, and I don't see why you shouldn't get credit for it. Especially since it's really easy to flag on ffr unless your pc runs it super smoothly. I just think that the extra point PLUS AAA points emphasises AAA'ing far to much, and makes it seem like one player is far better than another but in reality there is virtually no difference in skill.

Besides, even with my bonus an AAA still gets more points than a BF because of #of AAA points.

Alas, it was just a suggestion though so feedback is appriciated.

But uh, I definitely think hard skill token songs should be included on the tier list. Planetz, melonman, otaku's ect. They're hard enough, and if you're a good player you should have to play them and get the token to play them. This doesn't have much to do with whoring at all, unlike getting the highest # of AAA's. I don't play very often and have all the tokens.

I agree, a bf shows you are capable. But a more fundamental question is where the line is drawn with respect to capability. When is one considered AAA-capable? 1 Good? 1 Average? 2 Goods? A Good and a Boo? 1 Boo? 2 Boos? It's not always so certain, and so that is what makes it difficult. However, since the different timings do have objective limits, points can be allocated based on their accuracies, which I feel is fair. It'd require a more specific breakdown but it would be able to reflect skill as accurately as possible.

it really depends on what kind of run it is

I can see the problem of going ok, 1 good then what happens if I get 2 goods? It becomes tricky. But this is a crutial problem with the whole tier point system...not just my blackflag idea haha.


Tier points are just based on overall score anyway so why not have an option of simply adding up your total score on the tier songs? o_O

The on site CALCULATOR is more accurate...but the main page is not up to date yet. Basically the onsite one just gives you more points because it includes more songs and more AAA points.

I know that problem reach, in "5 or under" req, blackflag is apparantly better than 5 goods 5 boos.

The only way to solve this problem is adding more detailed reqs, like 5.8 points for BF, 5.6 points for 2 goods, etc.Bbut those make this system really complex.

adding total score is an idea but it's not as good, because one combo score can kill all PA scores by this on FFR. I think PA is an important factor for the skill, so I want to make every req songs be fair point/difficulty-wise.

Adjustment by % MAX score is better but still not enough, since FFR scoring system is way too combo-based.. 1 combo difference is like 4 times more important than 1 good difference for the Total score.

Then how about total score of the songs on the list, but have some weighted differently? Like make Pants be like *.4 or something, so even 1,000,000 extra combo points on it would only equate to 400,000 PA points on easier stuff that was PA-based and was weighted higher.

That Rondo won't be counted until Tass adds the score to the database, but you actually have 2 more AAA points so yeah.
