You stand with what you believe, but when people object to it, instead of addressing their objections, you tell them to "eff off" and if pressed, try to plead subjectivity of opinion and back off.

The entire POINT of this place is to challenge other peoples' opinions while stating your own.

That's how things progress. That's how we become better people.

It's not like we're saying YOU MUST ACCEPT OUR OPINION, but we're asking that you at least listen and respond. We will do the exact same for you.

There are only two possible groups of opinions here. Either you like it or you don't like it. Just stating an opinion won't bring anyone anywhere.

The point of this place isn't to state your opinion. It's to show that your opinion is the correct (or best, or most accurate, whatever) one with evidence and support. If you don't want to do that, then you really shouldn't post in here.

That, or change your opinion.

What's the point in talking, or even saying anything at all in the first place, if you aren't willing to change your opinion at all?

Maybe because you're a complete bigot and full of yourself.....? Yet you're not because you hate that you're a human and destroying the world...

Oh, and yeah, your bf does need to try harder if he's indulging in porn and you both are terribly against it. It's not hard. I'm a very sexual person, and I can not watch it quite easily.

Don't think I don't respect others' beliefs. A friend of mine and his now-wife dated without ever kissing or thinking sexual thoughts. Not about each other, not about others. They did that pure mind thing and their first kiss was on their wedding day. I respect it because they were very respectful about it. They didn't shove it in my face, call random people sluts for their choices, or anything like that. I didn't agree with any of it, but hey, their choice, what they wanted to do, and what they believed in. Cool. And they were cool with everyone else. You're hating on everyone, even if they were the best they could be because you hate humans.

You want us to listen to your opinions? Stop being a bigot. That's the first step. Second stop treating all guys as sexual pigs who want to dominate all girls and all girls as must be perfect little ladies. Doesn't work like that. I'm a very sexual person, yet very loving. I know what love is. I know how to treat a woman. I see girls sexually. I see girls personally. I see them as a mix of both. Various. Depends on the person. Some I see nothing, because I don't care for them. For me its a healthy balance. FOR ME. Not some book written by a bunch of guys 2000 years ago.

Anyways, I agree with everything devonin said. Except I want to add that I hope you when you get older, you're a lot less ignorant shatteredgravity. I'm sorry for my nasty comments in the past, but you really deserved it for how you have treated basically everyone, especially one of my friends. How would you feel if I called your bf a name for being religious? Exactly.

You really need to have a more positive attitude towards life. Stop stressing over everyone else and what we're all doing. Worry about your life and the people you care about. This hating life is not good for you and not good for others, because you take it out on everyone.

Before I begin this rampage, let me make perfectly clear that I hold no religion as absolute truth, so don't even start to label me as religious in your mind, k?

Right, let's examine and hopefully destroy your ignorance*.

No ****.
Seriously, NO ****ING ****!

However, religion generally has an opinion ABOUT porn. Since religion is a guide to "living a correct and holy life", most religious people, when faced with a question such as, "is porn wrong?", will turn to their religion, and base their opinion on the opinion of their chosen or indoctrinated faith.
Just as you base your opinion on your lack thereof.

Well, calling them stupid and nuts is definitely going to open them up to your opinion, isnt it? Just like them calling you a Sinner, and telling you you're going to hell for believing differently from them is going to open you to theirs.

Be reasonable, form opinions based on your knowledge, not on how you feel about religion.

*Ignorance is lack of knowledge, and therefore not an insult, so hold your fire.

And for the record, I happen to be quite capable of looking at women as people, and not as sexual objects. I also happen to be able to look at a piggy and not see bacon.

Quite, as my closest female friend, (who happens to be catholic and think porn is icky) knows full well that I watch porn on occasion, and we really don't discuss it further than that. And actually, just because it isn't 10 pages long doesn't make it shallow. That question is quite deep, and +50 points for you for managing to keep it short.

i liked some of that. some of it i needed to hear. i apologize.

...but still it made me laugh for some reason XD

i dont get it though. i heard your opinions and i listened to them -- and i was willing to change mine a little..if i was given good reason to. but, i have found that to not be happening, and so im still getting chewed out for staying with my opinion. what the junk?

There is a -world- of difference between

"I'm NOT going to change my opinion!"
and
"So far, I just haven't heard very compelling arguments"

There wasn't respect shown here and if you don't find a difference here, you can see it outside this thread and I can link you to it as to why I called her that. :S Her saying the world would be better without porn wasn't the bigotry part. -_-

Cool, Parents need to stop relying on other people to help there children grow properly.

All you need to do is talk to the children and they'll listen... If they want. Why on earth should owners of the website get punished for bad parenting. They are just making money and it's not illegal for them to be doing what they are doing.

Well I finally caught up on this thread and I saw a lot of points made correlating to the Morality of watching Pornography.
As far as I know, the only things sexually wrong that I have ever seen any sort of "Religious Proof" assuming that Religiousness in God is correct, are Adultery, and Fornication.
I don't ever remember seeing masturbation as being a sin.
The people participating in the pornography video, or photo may be committing either Adultery or Fornication which in turn means that they are "Sinning"; Assuming you believe that of course. That doesn't in-fact mean that by watching porn I am sinning.

If you think about, porn is made simply to stimulate those who watch it. If you watch it, chances are you're going to become aroused. If you become aroused, chances are you're going to masturbate. If you masturbate, chances are you're going to become happy.
I mean, I don't know anyone who watches porn for the fun of it, and doesn't eventually do something to themselves in the course of watching pornography.(Unless You're Watching With Friends, That Can Be Awkward)

So why does masturbation make porn a bad thing? Does anyone here have scripture proof that masturbation is a sin? If you do, I haven't seen it, and would gladly appreciate it if you do have proof. Otherwise, I don't see it as a bad thing at all. Maybe the people making the video are committing Immoral acts, but I don't consider any acts I make with myself immoral to me because I have no proof of it being immoral at all.

The reason people say it is immoral is because most types of morality are dictated by decisions made by society, not by any "Religious proof" or the like.
You can say watching porn is a bad thing, and is morally wrong; but God never said that watching porn is wrong, and you deciding it is morally wrong again is dictated by decisions yourself and society have made.

I mean seriously, if you think I'm wrong, please share your opinions AND Facts please.
