i don't have time to play all the files more than once.... you see how long it takes shash. and i already have like 75 more files for next batch, at least.
mp3 length on the 149 songs is 5 hours and 50 minutes. but then factor in the extra few seconds loading and finishing each song. then the time for writing up a review on each song. figure at least an extra 30 seconds on each song. that's an extra 75 minutes. so we're over 7 hours now. don't know about all of you, but i do have other stuff to work on, both on FFR and in the real world. but, i got all 149 files played in 5 days worth of playing (i believe the batch has been going for 8, but i didn't play any for the 1st 2 or on day 5. played 79 of the 149 over the past 2 days).

yea. i mean... i theoretically COULD do a batch turnaround in a day.... but i'd have to do nothing else. and, playing random files can get pretty damn boring quickly. i try not to play more than 10 at a time for that reason. keeps my head clear. figure... 48/149 are, imo, queueworthy. and you know that 48 are not making the queue. which means that, regardless, i played 100 files that had something wrong with them.
and now compound that with doing it every 2 weeks. each and every 2 weeks. for the past 9 months or so. i know some of you are like "man, i'd get that done in a day or two, tops"... and, well, yea... i'm sure you could. the 1st time, or the 2nd time. but you'd burn yourself out really fast if you didn't pace yourself. *shrugs* i expect shash done by sunday at the latest, jx shouldn't take more than 2 days to play the 60-70 files he'll have to test... so, wednesday at the latest for the batch. is my guess. which means you'll have until thursday or friday to re-submit.

i think people are still confused on the difference between ZIP FILE NAME and FOLDER NAME.
having "Insert File Name Here (JoeHo123).zip" with FileName.dwi and FileName.mp3 inside a folder called FileName inside the zip is NOT corrent. that is the ZIP FILE NAME having your username. I could care less about that. I want it on your FOLDER NAME that is inside the zip. And it is the same damn people over and over again that don't understand this. I won't call anyone out, but I KNOW I've sent you guys email responses asking for you to do this, specifically. And it isn't like I haven't spelled it out here in these threads about 20 times...

There are 149 files in the batch? Didn't you set a file cap for most people? The batches should only be like 60 files now.

2 files per a week for 1 person isn't really a cap, actually.

Maybe 4 people and tass.
They take the batch, 2 people take half, other 2 take the rest, and Tass takes the +'d. But of course they'd need to trust the new people and make sure they know what they are doing. |

lol. hire. that's funny.
anyway... more people that have to test, the more time it'll take overall. just how that works. and i'm very happy with how testing is going now, with the 3 of us. and... i've yet to see a complaint about a recent song in the game, which means y'all think we're finally doing a good job.

I would say just Tass tests, but I love Jx's testing and such.
So...fire Tass and Shash hahah. I liked the little batch updates. Maybe you and JX could post your notes while Shash is going over the +'d. That way the people who need to fix up they're files have plenty of time to do it, plus a few days to make sure its good and get it tested. Thats just me being hopeful though. |
