I don't know if this is a habit, but I zone out on stepmania/FFR and get a tunnel vision on the arrows and start thinking about other stuff that happened through out the day/week/etc. It's like a trance, I don't even realize I'm hitting the arrows and I "come to" in the middle of a deep thought with a huge combo. Kind of weird.

I almost forget I'm playing a song. I think about some other thing going on in my life, but i still play fine. When i notice, oh i'm playing an FFR Song i can't recall the last couple of seconds of the song. I then proceed to mess up when i try to pay attention...

When I am about to AAA a song...
My heartbeats out of control, I start sweating, and start involuntarily shaking, and then I screw up, or I get the AAA and feel a ton of bricks fly away from my helpless body.

When I get a large combo (on a hard song) or start a stream of some sort (bascially a difficult part) I begin to get all tense and my body is frozen and my fingers are going crazy (like when I got a 900+ combo on Vertex Beta and got The Color of Giggles).

The worst part is whenever I am trying to achieve somthing in particular (skill tokens/high combos/AAA's ect.)...
AAA's - I get bored near the end of the song and get a good (or get bored anywhere).

Fc's - If it is a hard (non-indexer) part I will mash and then my fingers will tire and I cannot mash as good as that for a while (but I stink at mashing cause I am an indexer) or if it is a stream of some sort (or a hard indexer-friendly part) I will get tense.

(in brackets are example(s) it has happened on)
Skill tokens - Easy (Spontaneous Hydroxide v2) - I may loose concentration
Skill tokens - Medium (Tribal Style, V1) - I will concentrate better because it is likely more fun and too hard to not pay attention
Skill Tokens - Medium-Hard (Crow Song, Starman,Color of Giggles) - Full concentration no matter what, too hard not to concentrate

Skill Tokens - Hard (Manhattan Sapphire, All of the World, The Pylons Are TRAP BALLS) - 100% attention, allot of patience, and luck.

Skill Tokens - Luck (lolharp5000)

Skill Tokens - in reach of unlocking but will take practice (Dazzling Destiny, Dawn, Syage) - Try, try and try again until I am so tired of it I cannot stand another go, then I will be like OMG why, why, why?

Skill Tokens - Never in a million years ({Midnight}, Zephon) - Try a few times then realize I will never be able to get them, go play somthing else, then later try again for fun.

Oh and I somtimes start dreaming about stuff (future goals, girls, ect.)

Wow that was long.... Well there is me and all my strange (or not so strange) things I do while playing FFR.

Oh and another thing. On very easy songs when I am bored I tend to move to the beat but then I fail/mess up (cause of AAA'sFc's/ect.).

tilt my keyboard, randomly mash buttons right before the song starts, talk to 1 person say something random right before the arrows start coming (if there is time) i try and keep a conversation with my brother (who sits beside me) try and crack my knuckles at any point in time i can, i get major tunnel vision but can still talk to people but i sound like an air head because i start talking then i stop. I'll start like yelling at the arrows if i don't get them or i'll like thank them and like coo to them and be all like wierd and motherly or my face will go all weird and my legs like tremble to the beat very very weird.

On easy songs I shake my head back and forth to the beat so much that I can barely see all the keys. When my eyes do pass by the screen, they memorize the arrows for the next two seconds until my eyes pass by the screen again. Of course on hard songs I don't do that. I hold the keyboard down with my left hand because sometimes on hard songs my middle finger catches on the up key because i don't lift it high enough and that moves the keyboard.
(yes, i do play one-handed. Sue me. I like the challenge)
