I'd say stick to one of the more popular servers. How about Rizon..? I'll wait untill Synth comes back from away, and ask him to create it so he has founder. I wouldn't want anyone else to own the channel ;/ |

Internet Relay Chat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search “IRC” redirects here. For other uses, see IRC (disambiguation). The five-layer TCP/IP model 5. Application layer Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a form of real-time Internet chat or synchronous conferencing. It is mainly designed for group (many-to-many) communication in discussion forums called channels, but also allows one-to-one communication and data transfers via private message. IRC was created by Jarkko "WiZ" Oikarinen in late August 1988 to replace a program called MUT (MultiUser talk) on a BBS called OuluBox in Finland. Oikarinen found inspiration in a chat system known as Bitnet Relay, which operated on the BITNET. IRC gained prominence when it was used to report on the Soviet coup attempt of 1991 throughout a media blackout. It was previously used in a similar fashion by Kuwaitis during the Iraqi invasion. Relevant logs are available from ibiblio archive. IRC client software is available for virtually every computer operating system. |

In other words, it's a crappier version of Yahoo or AIM.
Thanks.

Eh? Where did you get the 'Crappier version' from? It's a hell of alot more usefull than Yahoo or AIM. Infact why even put Yahoo there? Yahoo is the buggiest peice of tool-less **** I've ever had the disgust of downloading.

The reason I said a GameSurge server is because we don't need to worry about anything except channel reg and adding ops, reg is already done. I could give the ownership of the channel to any admin/moderator if the channel is wanted. (I don't like Rizon anyway >:[)

Alright, so we have a channel running on the GameSurge servers.
Server: IRC.GameSurge.Net Channel: #flashflashrevolution For all of you who don't know how to run mIRC, use these instructions to access the channel: 1. Go to http://www.gamesurge.net/chat/ 2. Wait for the jIRC to load. 3. Type /j #flashflashrevolution 4. ????? 5. Profit!

I have installed mIRC on my computer for chat along with my Gomeetnow software ( which is for secured official conferences )....but I only have a 30 day trial....See on my last computer I had mIRC...but I had put in a code that was all 1's & 0's...so basically I'm asking is what are those codes that are used to over ride the mIRC to make it use again....!

Even though I think IRC is great, this is a good point. IRC doesn't really offer much more than the various existing chats on-site.
