With speed mods, tokens... etc added in to r1. There wont be r3. Unless you mean that r1 will evolve and become "r3" or something along the lines. I believe Synth will take efficient path. Why build something from scratch if you already have something that is extremly popular? Improving it, is the obvious answer.
