Bleh {Big Bad Fish-Man} is going very slowly...Can't decide what i want to put in at :20, because it's basically the same thing as from :10-:20 and it lasts until :44

I don't want the file to be too repetitive and boring, but at the same time, i don't want to do something thats not part of the song

PS: the same rhythm also goes from 1:17-1:38
So is 55 seconds of the same step pattern repetitive? :P

EDIT: Hmm, wait, i think i have something. Its always after i make my posts that i get my revelations :P
Funny thing about me is i have all these ideas for steps in my mind, but the transition from brain to SMEditor doesn't work

caught up on things. no real comment to give... good stuff from synthwulf, although need to check his IP...

other stuff... the unknown girl in that vid didn't sound rock at all. curious as to how brain of the moon or dreams of scarlet would sound as original vs the dBu mix. and, yea. i guess it'll have to go on a case by case basis on arcade vs rock... although simfile author's input is clearly valued (as rebirth's is what finalized those decisions for rock)

shash will be done the batch this weekend, which means to expect an update by about monday at the latest...

was something else too, i'm sure, but i forget.

very minor batch update... 7 files, all Rock songs, all submitted since July 10th.

Shash
[13:19] Shashakiro: Shooting Star - (Quit out, nothing is onbeat at all)
Driveway ? (Difficulty is consistent with neither itself or the song, many parts very understepped compared to others. Patterns of 4 16ths like 1234 should be 12341 or something like that. Too many 4-framers, if you make it a 9/12 at least in difficulty it can have this many but otherwise it's just annoying and dumb.)
Drop Dead Gorgeous ! (Multiple difficulties)
Jump In ? (16ths at measure 37 make no sense, steps don't go very well with vocals and miss some beats for no reason, jumps are pretty random overall)
Red Dress - (Just by looking at the editor I can tell this will be completely offbeat...and yep it was)
Roses and Butterflies (N) +? (Preferably, make measure 154 easier, a 16th sandwich in the middle of a song with barely any 16ths at all is a bit much...however this is the only decent file in the minibatch so if you need one this can be a + since the problem is so minor)
Roses and Butterflies (V) < (N's is better even with his sandwich, the vocals aren't synced as well here and the file just doesn't flow as well in general)

jimerax
The Shooting Star That Destroyed Us(sammo123) [-] - offsync, wrong BPM

Driveway! (ElRayford + DrugstoreCowboy) [?] - 8th patterns and double
placement are bad, some parts are repetitive

Daniel, where's the Boat (sammo123) [-] - offsync, wrong BPM

Jump In (DrugstoreCowboy) [+] - 1 off part (16th gallop like pattern) but ok

Red Dress (sammo123) [-] - offsync, wrong BPM

Roses and Butterflies (Neonatrias) [+(<)] - (see below)

Roses_and_Butterflies (Valtrix) [+] - technically really close, both
should be synced to the vocal better, liked valtrix's just a bit more.

OVERALL
I played Jump In, Driveway, and the 2 Roses files. I agree with everything jx and shash said in regards to jump in and driveway. Driveway needs a bunch of work, better flow, more consideration towards lack of 4-framers, etc etc. Jump In is REALLY CLOSE... just needs those few minor fixes.

Of the 2 Roses... I, as well as both other judges, liked both files about evenly. I'd like to see both artists do some fixing to their vocal sync, Neon needs to fix up that sandwich around note 1000, possibly remove a few jumps throughout. Valtrix's file could use a bit of overall flow work, but I liked his level of difficulty for the song more (aka, slightly easier than Neons, about 200 notes less, less notes to the music without vocals).

And I didn't play sammo's 3 files. I trust jx and shash enough to not bother wasting my time.

Please make this adjustments ASAP and we'll re-test just as quickly. And notes to other artists.... as you can see, when we REALLY want specific files in game fast, we rush those files to be judged quickly, and they'll be put in game just as fast. Not to mention, there are subscription and credit based rewards for these Rock songs.

See Drugstore's thread for all of his band permissions, check out An Endless Sporatic and Veritas from me.

The problem with rock songs is that they're usually live recordings so they're not always 100% accurate. Also, I somehow doubt that the MP3 was the problem. You probably need to adjust your gap and other things in the file. Don't blame the sound file <_<;;

Sent in 3rd ever submission. This is my best so far... I hope a mod. has a chance to play/critique it.

I just have a fear that they might overlook the newbies... (I'm not a newb at stepping, though! =))

sammo: trust me when i say it isn't the mp3. it's you. a bpm finder is not always accurate, and live recordings are almost never a constant bpm.

arcsynth?: we test EVERY file sent to me, regardless of who sends it. just have patience, these things take time.

Hey I didn't know we could send out our Making April songs early

Now I have to wait til Monday. UNLESS, Drugstore, you have my file still don't you? If you could send it in for me that would be excellent, but if not don't worry
