theres nothing wrong with marth hes the best his reflections are awesome and hes way faster then roy!!!

lol, i know! back in my noob days i used to play as roy cuz he did more damage but now i play with him and i'm like "holy crud you sucks...". and marths counter last like 3x longer (which calculates to like a half sec. longer but w/e...)

One term can describe why Marth's down smash is not preferable to use - lag time.

I'm not saying not to use it, but I am saying don't become reliant on it, or use it too frequently. It has a lengthy duration, and a high recovery time, so a missed down smash from Marth is easily punished.

But a well placed one (randomly placed might be better to say, haha) can throw your opponent for a loop ^^

agreed, if you miss and you're over the edge then you're heading straight down, but this can easily be avoided by using your 2nd jump right before you down smash. and it takes no longer to recover from then it does to recover from a dodge (unless you wave dash, obviously...). i hardly ever get screwed over by it on the ground, it's only when i jump off the ledge after my opponent do i normally screw up and get punished

Haha, yeah, that screws up a good number of people, when they intend to use a down tilt and get knocked off the stage in the process of using it. Lol, it's really fun to watch when it's Captain Falcon, Falco, or Fox.

Edit : And like I said, if you can place it well, it can really mess with your opponent, because I haven't seen many people that have expected someone to use Marth's down smash against them ^^

I only use Jigglypuff when I play against newbs because I know I can use my sleep atttack on them. For stamina-type games I use pikachu and for all out fighting I use marth because I can just wavedash around and hit while I'm doing it =D

i loooooove SSBM. marth is my main character but i also use fox, link, luigi, and jigly puff or however its spelled. i cant wait for SSBB n.n
