Tass, do you even remember what was awkward about my patterns? They're just doubles placed everywhere that the music has an important sound, its definitely better than seven's extremely random stream.

So, wait, you want to get MORE sims into the game by people who already have way too many, reducing the variety even more? I started making Vrofls of songs due to dore's suggestion, in case that ever happens, and I guess I'll start submitting 2 of those a week now, in case that ever happens, since I'm now capped for some reason.

No, we want to play fewer sub-par files from new authors, because to be honest, most of the crappy files are from new authors. This doesn't increase the number of files we'll get from the good authors, it only decreases the number of files we'll get from new authors--and it's incredibly rare for a new author to get more than 2 files accepted in a batch as it is anyway.

Obviously, the list can change--if someone makes really good submissions in their two a batch, they'll be put on the list.

So yeah, please ignore my Gigadelic submission. With actually receiving feedback on my later files I've realized that you will reject it, and I need to give it an overhaul.

meh i kinda think that my file didn't get accepted because it's not the exact same as every other simfile in FFR. Although, the 12th jack was stupid of me on my part.

So, extra will just be pushed back to the next 1-week period, so we might as well submit stuff at normal times anyway, we'll just have to wait longer to get feedback/it added to the game?

doug... why are you bitching about this? you can still submit SIX new files. SIX. it isn't like you've submitted 6 different files to us, ever.

yea, it's a cap. but it is a broad cap. for the reasons that Shash clarified. and it isn't capping your re-submits either.

I'm just ticked because I wish there were more variety of simfile artists in this game. There's probably a list of 10 that have made over half the sims in the game now, and the amount that those simfile artists have is just going way up.

Oh, so if it doesn't cap resubmits, then it does us good to submit garbage sims one week so it won't use up one of our submits to resubmit it later?

BTW, this 2 sims a week thing, I take it to save time we can't just give all 6 in one day?

you could send all 6 in 1 day. it just happens that this batch is 3 weeks worth of submissions. hence 6. the next batch might be 4 or 2 or 3. depending on how long it takes.

and doug: if you are going to try and circumvent the new guidelines, we'd be happy to make specific guidelines just for you. and there is a REASON that 10 people have half the files in the game.... those 10 people are a) good at making files and b) have taken the time to submit 30+ files each... and if you look at that list, many of them did in fact work their way up from a crappy artist to a better one, by submitting a few files, getting critiques, and then improving.

hopefully, this will worse those newer stepfilers into taking more time on fewer files, as opposed to getting all hyper and "well, if i submit 10 files, ONE HAS TO MAKE IT IN!!" i'd rather have 1 quality files than 10 mediocre ones that mange to get 3 into the queue from it.

right. a person who is new at making files *raises hand* shouldn't expect to be able to make more than 2 quality files a week, anyway. sounds good. should speed things up a bit, eh?

for middle catagory-ers, like me, would like, 3-4, rather than a cap of 2, be ok?

i dont wanna send in too many... specially since im not unquestionable...

you can send in as many as you want.... as i said, the point of this is to make you focus more on quality than quantity.

but, yea. figure 8-9 for you, tops, for this batch. anything over that will get held to the next batch.

all files for the upcoming batch have been downloaded. 2 people are over their 6 song limit...

will have a post later tonight with more details. i'll give everyone another 5-6 hours to submit their stuff for this batch, then it'll have to wait until the next one.

120 songs in total, including the over 6. so it'll be less, currently.
