What makes me happy?

Lots of DDR, FFR, summer vacation, driving, hanging out with friends, posting in the forums on FFR, more DDR, a lot of Morrowind, some PSO, and porn.

Yeah.

Rajgin's quote makes me unhappy, ...as i disagree with it strongly.

Quote:
"Life is just a game. Make your moves, act upon them, and deal with the consequences that follow."
No offense... but

Life is not a game. Why do you want everything to be a game?

I know your quote sounds very Zen-like and wise or whatever, but it's just...

One word description: Empty.

It's not true, it doesn't even work, and it doesn't sound cool... and after you read it you kind of frown and wish you had been hit by a cement truck right before you read the quote.

Being alive.

Going along with Observer's definitions of happiness and contentment, I'm happy that I can wake up every day and strive for contentment. I live to be happy, and that also makes me happy.

My old girlfriend made me happy and memories of our relationship still do today, even though we were separated three years ago. Although the thought that I can't ever have her again isn't so sweet.

Regarding Rajgin's quote about life being a game, I agree completely. There's nothing wrong or empty about living your life as a series of moments. Just because something's a game doesn't mean you can't take it seriously.

What doesn't make me happy is the way Jam stated her opinion as fact in the last sentence of her last post.

God, life, and the pursuit of happiness, rules.

My sisters, my friends, and the fact that I can do whatever I want with my life, and it is all going to come out wonderfully. I spent a moajor part of my life being unhappy, and unfortunatly I lost a lot of people close to me. Yes, there are still things that make me sad.....even when people don't intend to hurt me, but I decided recently that I will not let things bother me, and if I do, I will let them bother me all they want behind closed doors.
My happiness comes almost entirely from making others around me happy. If I am upset, friends worry about me, just as I would them. I don't want that, I want everyone I know to be happy...not just because of me, but I do want to help.
I want to be the best sister, daughter, friend, and someday best wife and mother possible. And if everyone's life is okay around me, I am groovy.

The challenge of running makes me happy (attaining personal goals).

Sitting on top of mountains makes me happy.

Swimming with my friends and making each other laugh makes me happy.

Playing tennis with my family makes me happy.

Achieving a higher education makes me happy.

Listening and playing music makes me happy.

Working on my computer makes me happy (mods etc.).

Eating fish, meat, fruit, and many types of desserts make me happy.

Looking at the pretty girls make me happy (in a different way).

Eternally looking forward to summer over the ~180 days of school make me happy.

I can't think of any more.

Making people laugh makes me truely happy. There is nothing better than hearing a group of people crack up at your jokes. I don't know anything about love or girls or else I wouldn't be skimming this forum everynight at 2 in the fucking morning.

I got a better way of phrasing it. Its sorta combining Stoicism and Confucianism, that each person should do what is expected of them, and take both the bad with the good.
And The Q, I totally agree. Laughing at jokes, spending time with friends, and making people laugh at my jokes are some of the most pleasureable things for me.
If things are feeling down, I just know that there will be better times and I might as well wait until the time passes away and the problems are over (at least temporarily). You have to just enjoy the things that make the world beautiful, which for me include the sound of rain, the beauty of snow, etc.

Well, Laharl, if you want to stay comfortable, then nothing is going to make you happy. And by the way, merely knowledge or belief in anything will never give happiness.

Anything you are comfortable speaking about right now that is supposed to give you happiness will simply distract you from your void. I wouldn't even go as far as to say contentedness.

If you can't find happiness, you won't find it on forums. Get a life.

Simple things are the best.

1. Like wearing really short shorts, exposing your extremely skinny/white legs to everyone making them very uncomfortible
2. Saying things that make people question your sexuallity.
3. Eating ten pounds of bacon in one sitting.
4. Making people laugh
5. People rocking out to your music.
6. Finding money on the street.
7. Using that money to buy drugs.

You know, the little things in life.

Okay, fuhole, don't even try to insult me because I'm depressed and mentioned the fact on a message board.

"Get a life."

I have one, asshat.

When I'm bored or simply have the urge to do something, I just go on my bike and ride out in one direction until the road stops. Then I turn around. These rides usually take the whole day though so I'd have to be pretty desperate.

The other options include swimming (warm evenings) beating a video game that's halfway-done (really hot days) or going to the mall and just chatting with friends that work there (rainy days).

I find teh best boredom busters to be swimming, running and playing video games. The busier I am teh less bored I am so I can't complain.

Lupin is right though, short shorts are fun. I wear them all the time.
