We have an unbelieveable Latino population at my school, and even a few illegals.

-Teachers have to write "Don't erase" as well as "No borre" on their chalkboards. It's strange, because the janitorial staff members that I'VE spoken to speak decent English.
-Most of the boys' soccer program is Latino.
-We've got crazy situations with illegals. Last year when the immigrants protested, 199 Latinos and one black guy (don't ask) marched across town.
-In our first day of World Geography (my sleeping period), we were each supposed to say something unique about ourselves. A particular student said "I'm illegal."
-Some time before Christmas break, all the Latinos were taken into the cafeteria. A select handful of people got deported.

:/ I have this fear that next semester while I'm doing my internship, one of my kids is going to wander in wearing MY hoodie.
