Re: Mario Party 8
Another party game, still not seeing much reason for a serious gamer to get this yet.

I was going to get it, but I heard from a lot of reliable people that it bombed.

This guy is so right. There have been way to many Mario party games made. Im not saying thier bad, Im saying that they could stop making them now.

Re: Mario Party 8
I think I've now played every Mario Party game (except 8, of course) and my favorite is probably the classic N64 ones.

Re: Mario Party 8
I own one Mario Party title and I rarely play it. MP4.
It's a tired franchise and I really can't enjoy it. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree is looking to be a lot more fun. Hopefully I can snag one for $45. |

Re: Mario Party 8
IMO, Mario Party 2 was the best by far, I've been kind of disappointed with most of the rest of them.

2 and 3 were the best, 1 was close. But after 3 they started going downhill.

Re: Mario Party 8
Problem is the mario party games have gone too chance oriented. Winning minigames should be far more valuable than it ends up being, and there should be no gay ass 'steal all stars' and 'steal all coins' and other really lame things like that ;(

I really liked the ones on the N64, and Mario Party 4 was great, but after that, they kinda sucked. |

Re: Mario Party 8
I liked the good old n64 games, I think it was the first one. It had these minigames where you got to team up 3 people against 1 poor bastard and split up his money if he lost. For example there where this rope pulling game where you dragged him out of the edge, malicious pleasure at its best.

I like playing with my family and beating the crap out of my mom. Serves her right for beating me with kindness all of these years.

Re: Mario Party 8
Yeah, seriously, taking all stars takes no effort for winning the game. You just get really lucky and stuff, and... what effort is needed.

Re: Mario Party 8
I heard that too. It's really too bad, I was hoping it would shoot new life into the franchise. But then I realized that out of the 6 or so games I have for the Wii, 3 of them are minigame packs anyway.
