Default Black Eyed Peas - Weekend (Square Bear's Donk Mix)

This is something I've been messing around with for a couple of days. It's a remix of Weekend by the Black Eyed Peas. I've not heard the original to base my mix on but hopefully you'll like it.

I know that it clips in places especially when the girl is singing and I've probably made the hats a little too forward in the mix. I also realise that it's certainly not my best work by far but any comments are appreciated.

Black Eyed Peas - Weekend (Square Bear's Donk Mix) (3.5Mb)

Cheers!

I've posted it in here as I have permission to use the vocals but not to use it in the FFR game.

Thanks guys. Yes, this is the sound that seems to be filling the UK dance floors at this time so I thought I'd grab a slice of the action.

I notice that the vocals in some of your songs don't blend very well. I'm not sure why. Try EQing out some of the lower frequencies and slapping on some reeverb or delay -- just to give it a more electronic feel.

Sounds good squarebear, but some of those highs really pierced my ears.
It's probably cause I have my monitors on, but yeah, it might be something to look at.

tight production! I agree with Jono about the vocals. You might even think about pitching them up. Not all the way to chipmunk speed, but it's worth screwing around with. Are you going to do a more DJ friendly length mix of the song?

I was planning on leaving the male rapper out of this version all together. I have a trance remix made of it which I've submitted to the Black Eyed Peas, so I'm just waiting to see if they like it.
Thanks for listening guys.
I don't think I'll bother with another version of this particular remix.
