In Flames sold out, so they are no longer one of my favorites.

I'm against anything nu-metal. I don't like little kids who listen to old metal and think they're cool because they like old music. That of course is my opinion, so don't take it personally. Me? Kataklysm, ah how could I forget them? They were my gateway into metal. I saw Necrophagist last year and they're probably my favorite Melo Tech Death band. CC is ****ing brutal and I kept getting punched by some drunk old biker at their show with The Red Chord and PsyOpus (An amazing experimental band signed on Metalblade). Cryptopsy is supposed to be writing new material. So is Nile. Holy ****, 2007 is going to be a good year for CD releases. Dream Theater's new CD is ok too, but it's definitely a step up from 8VM. (Yes, SC leaked like 2 weeks ago.)

Also, i hate people who are musical bigots. I have a friend who will not listen to a band at all just because they 'sold out'. I personally think that you should give every genre/band a FAIR chance and listen for things you like because more often than not you will find something if you look for it. If you dislike a band for what they do and not for how they sound then i rank you just as high as the people who are extremely into celebrities lives. (Btw, thats REALLY close to the bottom of my respect chain). I will not be ashamed to admit that i like a decent number of songs from EVERY genre and almost at least one song from every band. Every band has some musical talent be recognized for.

I agree. But I seriously don't like bands that make music I don't like.

I agree for the most part. But, there is one band that I can really think of who defines the term "Sell-out". Fallout Boy. I didn't like them from the start. They have some catchy songs, but nothing that I would listen to for more than 5 minutes without wanting to stab something. But, think about it. Every one of their music videos has a zoom/close up of an amp'd mobile phone, or something stupid like that. You think it actually has any relevence to the music video? No. But, it makes them money. They're on the HONDA CIVIC TOUR. I mean come on. I'm not a mainstream basher, and for the most part I don't care what bands do to make money, but there's a line that FOB crossed that should not be tolerated in music. The music business on the other hand gets off on it.

I can agree with you that any video with a mass amount of labels in it is probably not worth watching more than once.

Like i said to that other guy who said i listen to it cuz i think im cool. Just cuz im 14 doesnt meen i cant apreciate the music i like. no offense but people who say comments like that piss me off.

Listen, when I said that, I mean't EVERY little kid who does that. It shouldn't piss you off because it's the truth. Little kids want to listen to the older music so that their older siblings will give them props or whatever.

Also, to slipstrike. I've listened to their music, thank you. The pre-sellout time period, and the post-sellout time period. I prefer the pre, thank you. I'm not a bigot, especially not a musical bigot. I've listened to every type of music imaginable. Classic, rock, metal, pop, country, techno, rave, what have you. It's just certain parts of those genres that I like.

old metal is the best slayer, deicide etc; and few new bands come close some goods ones are dragonforce and children of bodom in my opinion, and i don't think kids that listen to old music think they are cool because of it they just do cause new metal sucks.
