I suppose this is futile; the impression of me as once was is cemented adamantly for most of you and nothing I do or say can change that. Notice though, that the reasons most of you continue to mock my character, sans "Captain Picard" as the codeword is which would be mocked regardless of who it was of, are due to traits that I used to have but no longer do. Elitism regarding preferences, irrationality, worldview, etc.. the only thing, as Dewgy mentioned, that would be viable (I suppose) is my writing style, but I highly doubt that you would hate anyone so extensively for their writing style alone, and it seems pedantic to do so. Obviously, there is still a bitter taste in the mouths of those here from my deplorable character of the past, and not just the way I wrote.
Such bitterness is apparent in this log that was posted against my wishes. Inferrences and guesses are limited when something isn't explicitly stated. That Zane assumed so heavily tells me that, among other things, he was predisposed and was prepared to remain so. If you read this log carefully, you'll notice that I said "so that I can estimate how long it will be before people forget about me and stop talking about me." If I was narcissistic, why would I be trying to estimate how long it was before people stopped talking about me? The converse would be true: I would be trying to estimate how long people would continue to talk about me. The identity of "Arch0wl" is a debacle; I regard it as an altogether separate and distinct entity from myself due to how much change I have undergone since I used that moniker and would not want to ever reclaim it. Superficially, I would assume that one would say "Yes, but you haven't undergone that much change." Perhaps this is so if the only method of gauging this is my writing style! I am indeed a teenager, changing to such an extent is in the nature of teenagers. If you were to ask "What made Arch0wl distinct?" none of what would be answered would currently apply to me. I don't play video games, I don't argue on the internet, I don't enjoy music or any other art form with an elitist notion, I don't look down upon others for venial things such as their preferences, I don't regard competition in what is supposed to be a hobby positively, I don't think that I am infallible and I certainly don't think that I'm exceptional. The real world is humbling, and it was only a matter of time before the obnoxious facade I once maintained was crushed by the reality that is avoided so effectively with music games and internet forums. But regardless of how much I've changed, I've spoken of entirely myself, which I assume others have at least thought of while reading this to some extent, and regardless of how appropriate it may be given this thread's subject matter, it is not all I have to say. I was rude to all of you. I don't think "rude" would begin to cover the extent to which I misbehaved. "Barbaric" seems to be more appropriate. There's something about the internet that allows most to ignore the humanity of people and see them as only the words that they have typed on the screen, allowing one to act apathetically and maliciously to any person one dislikes. It seems entirely appropriate that, a oar later, nearly all of the material posted about me is comparable in animosity. To all of you whom I treated so carelessly, on this site, on bemanistyle, on DDRFreak, on FFR, and every forum that can be so described, I deeply apologize. The sheer volume of people that I have mistreated in the past makes it impossible to personally apologize to every one of you - kimcicle, Dewgy, and Irob are only three of what seems like thousands. There are none that I still hold any bitter feelings towards; hopefully you can say the same for me, eventually. It would seem that relieving you of my presence and resigning myself from this community as I have done is all I really can do: apologize, to the greatest extent that I can apologize, and leave humbly. I initially did not want to make this post. I don't want discussion about me to be reignited--ideally, I'd like to be forgotten. If you could delete this thread after everything's said and done, I think that would be beneficial to most of us. But if you choose not to, I respect your decision; I don't expect anything from any of you, especially now. Should this be the last post I make on this forum, due to whatever circumstances may occur, I wish you all the best in the future endeavors, and hope that you are prosperous. P.S. m335h73r, if you read this, I didn't intentionally forego your credit in the airline tips thread back in early 2006; I should have communicated with you more about it to know what you wanted me to do. I apologize. Best of wishes to all of you. |
