It's tough, there's not much either show can do to further the series, IMO, but I've only seen evidence (such as below image) about the basis of the series. (I made the most sense out of that that I could, haha)

TV : Pokemon > Yugioh
Card game : Yugioh > Pokemon
Since I don't get to play either card game much, pokemon for the victory!

Classic Pokemon, without the 67483572894 new ones that are stupid wins, hands down. Yes, the tv show was much better from what I remember. Man... Pokemon was so forever ago it seems like.

Yu-Gi-Oh - never anything I bothered with, actually... I have 8 siblings all younger than me and Yu-Gi-Oh was never anything that caught on in our household.

100% Pokemon. I loved that show and game forever, and still do lol. I got sick of Yu-Gi-Oh when the stupid GX, or whatever version came out. Original Pokemon > original Yu-Gi-Oh non-the-less.

I chose Pokemon because the original 150 pokemon were kick arse! I still remember the red and blue verisons, good times.
Yu-gi-oh is too hard to keep track of, the characters are gay nowadays. They got rid of Yugi so there's no point to it anymore.

I'd have to pick Yu-Gi-Oh just for the fact that I play the card game (not very much anymore though). I haven't really watched the original anime, but Yu-Gi-Oh GX is retarded. Especially with lines like "I'm gonna throw down a face down." *shudder*

I never really got into Pokemon Trading Card Game, but I still have all my cards. My rarest ones got stolen though, which really makes me hate it. Nowadays, the Pokemon are retarded so I wouldn't even waste buying any cards. As for the show, I used to love it until I was like 11, and to tell the truth I still love the old episodes, but it's sucked for years.

And as for Magic: The Gathering. I've never played it, but the artwork kicks the ass of every other trading card game. That alone means it can't suck.

But the best trading card game is Dragon Drive. Haha, what else? XD (I hope it comes out in America soon, the Manga's out so it can't be long)

Anyway, Yu-Gi-Oh gets my vote.

I liked Yugioh! a lot better when I was younger (before it had that GX craptacular series tagged onto it). Two questions I always had/have: Where the hell are the normal animals? (in pokemon) and Why haven't they taken Tea out of the series? (Seriously, she's a worthless character and I hate her overly-sweet friendship speeches)

Edit: Never played the YGO card game but I have made a small collection of cards. xD
