I didn't think you could get one of those fitted for an LP.. I thought they were like a Schecter made case

All of my components are in, I just got back from a two-day vacation, and I have 4 days before I'm off to Paris for 8 days.

I'm going to build my computer in the morning and I'll update this with how it's turned out. I'm sure it'll be a beauty. I'll also post specs and some pics if my ol' camera's up to it.

I have no preferance.... Ibanez are great, Jackson are great, Gibson are great. it all depends on how much you spend. When it comes to instruments, its one thing you actually do get what you pay for.

But like many other goods, there's a huge supply of overpriced and overrated guitars.

Bass Guitar for Dummies is a helpful book for getting down the scales and how to use them, and a good song to get comfortable with bass on is Seven Nation Army. (The song doesn't technically use a bass, but whatever. It's a fun riff.)

Isn't it a guitar tuned down to A? Those are technically bass notes.

I've been playing the guitar two years now, I think. I have an acoustic Seagull
http://www.seagullguitars.com/productcoastburstgt.htm you can see here...I love this guitar! Now, I need to learn how to do scales and solos better. I am self taught by the way!

I think Jack White uses a pedal that drops the tone on it, so they are technically bass notes, but they aren't being played on a bass.

And Scrobbytilt, I agree. I prefer to call Guitar Center Banjo-Mart.

I agree, but also, you have to admit, when they have blowout sales and stuff, its absolutely amazing the stuff and packages you can get for very very good prices.

The original GC is so beautiful that you can't deny how amazing it is.

They had a whole room with keyboards, programs, and like 10 ENTIRE ****ING WORKSTATIONS SET UP!!!

Jesus, that was amazing.

I should look for some good bass site links, but most guitar websites will help with bass as well, but I should look specifically I suppose.

I have $70 to my name, and I need to move cross country with it, so needless to say, I don't have money for more equipment which kinda upsets me lol. When I have $200 I'm getting Cubase SE3, since it can do almost ANYTHING, and then a PodXT to mold my tones, then I'm going to get a new guitar and amp.

Cubase isn't the program you should start out with. There are better programs for what you're trying to do. I learned the hard way.

I'm looking for a program that I can create backing tracks on as well as record and manipulate the sound. What would you recommend?

First, how advanced a program are you looking for? For something nice and simple, Fruity Loops (or whatever it was called) is a great one, if I remember correctly...

Plus you need an audio card in your computer that has some sort of input and reasonable recording clarity... a couple hundred dollar sound card will do it alright, but I spent $1,500 on mine to get crystal clarity so that things don't sound like ****.

And the program Colossus is $500 (you can find it for $400 or less if you look), but it includes over 32gb of 24-bit pristine quality samples recorded exclusively for the company, and even some of a limited edition vintage guitar that's almost impossible to find.

You get what you pay for, let me put it that way. I paid many thousands of dollars for my setup, so I'm going to get the good use of it.
