File-sharing is also illegal.

Just because it's Japanese doesn't mean it's any different from downloading MP3s or movies.

Well, when you say "Hentai", I interpret that as "Hentai games, Hentai movies, Hentai manga, etc."

Images posted on their website are fair game. Unless someone had to pay to access those images.

Actually... I don't want to get into the argument, but some people are really sensitive about their art being taken and posted elsewhere without consent, or even credit. There's a whole pact around it or something; OFP.

Personally I don't see why people make such a big deal of it as long as they're not making money off it or claiming it as their own, but an artist's wishes are an artist's wishes, and pretty much every Japanese artsite I have found does NOT want their images randomly spread around the Internet.

I know it's pretty much inevitable, they should expect it when posting online, etc. but still. I wouldn't really call it "fair game" given that.

Actually Squeek, that's untrue. File-sharing itself is not illegal. However, when a person begins to share copyrighted material then it becomes illegal. Why do you think when you first download Limewire, it asks if you plan to use it for illegal purposes?

I'm well aware of the ground rules on the matter.

Fact is that 95% of all files shared are illegal. So, it's just a lot easier to say it's illegal.

I know that the programs themselves are perfectly legal. Just trying to tell him that sharing illegal things over a legal network is still illegal.

I hate only anime that goes nowhere and doesn't hold my attention. I also hate anime that takes to long to get to the good stuff.

Yeah, they actually shut down Napster when everything was free, and now it's only legal because you have to pay for stuff.
