I'm going to the Prom on Friday and my GF is wearing a Burgundy dress.
I still have the option to change my black bowtie and cumberbund to a burgundy bowtie and cumberbund; however, I don't like the idea of a large red cumberbund at my waist. Would it look bad if I just changed the bowtie?

Yes. I saw a guy with mismatched green and black and it looked horrid.

Just get burgundy. It's not necessarily "red", it's a deep red. It would look pretty snazzy, and you don't want to look like ****. Just do it.

Hmm, was it a black tux with a black cumberbund and a green bowtie?
Dang, I just called them and said bowtie only... -.- If only the bowtie is wine colored (the color of her dress) will it look bad? Should I tell them to change the cumberbund as well?

I would definitely go with the same color for both.

You only get to go to prom once, I say dress up like a clown.
Yes, get the cummerbund, or you might regret it later on.

I thought this was going to be a thread about dressing us as Ron Burgandy. I'm disappointed.
Also, stop worrying so much about colour matching, dress so that you look good. |
