I got a real bone to pick with the entire MAx series, being the claim it is at 300 bpm when it really is not..
The setting may be at 300 or above, but in reality it is cut time, which is why it is still danceable and not ultra fast like it is suggested... Don't believe me? Take a kick drum and set it at 180 with kicks on downbests like normal dance, which is about the speed of the kick in Neomax...Then up it to 300 bpm and you see how fast 300 bpm really is...

Well Rage/Spook, some DWI authors do that on some songs because the song itself sounds faster i.e. MAX300 sounds a lot faster than it really is, so some ignorant people automatically assume the song itself is that speed.
