Who would make up the ultimate band?
i personally would throw something like this together:
lead guitar: Slash from G n' R/Velvet Revolver bass: Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers drums: Alex Van Halen from Van Halen vocals: Tyler Connolly from Theory Of A Deadman backup guitar: Dave Mustaine of Metallica I think these guys would be awesome together! Dudes. Flea has nothing on Les Claypool.
Guitar 1 - Hendrix (there is no one better) Guitar 2 - Justin King (about as talented as buckethead, but plays happy music instead of crazy music) Bass - Les Claypool (=god) Drums - Danny Carey (peart's amazing, but I prefer the godly sh!t tool dishes out) Vocals - Denis Lyxzen (crazy f***er of Refused and The International Noise Conspiracy)

Re: Who would make up the ultimate band?
you know, its not so much that hendrix was the best player (he was real good tho), its more that he discovered fx... he could produce the most original and crazy tones. you put hendrix and eddie van halen side by side, eddie would out play him, but hendrix would produce a style and tone, in his own league. They're both great players in different respects, it all depends on your perspective.

Re: Who would make up the ultimate band?
See, the funny thing is that you may think that all these amazing people would work well together, but instead they can't work together and the music doesn't sound as good. I take The Flower Kings "Adam and Eve" as an example. They brought Daniel Gildenlow (Pain of Salvation) into it and the two bands' styles didn't mix well enough to flow. They were better apart.
As is the case I just prefer for the bands themselves to get together. Transatlantic, OSI, Frost*, etc. They are all good. |

Re: Who would make up the ultimate band?
Bass: Les Claypool (duh don't even try to argue that)
2nd Guitar: Hmm... maybe either Eric Clapton or Buckethead can do some cool rythms Lead Guitar: debatable... Obviously everyone is going to say either Eddie Van Halen or Jimi Hendrix. I might go with Jimi just so it doesn't clash so much. Drums: Joey Jorison from slipknot is phenomenal or Neil Peart from Rush Back-up vocals: not a necessity but Freddie Mercury from Queen was very talented. If not him, leave this blank. Vocals: Gotta be Robert Plant if it's classic rock (if you don't know that that's Led Zepplin's lead singer go shoot yourself) or if it's metal Bruce Dickenson from Iron Maiden That about sums it up quite nicely eh? =) Btw DJ I was the one who suggested this first =P

Re: Who would make up the ultimate band?
This isn't really a question of who would combine well together. I believe this is more of a question of who was the best of all time at the instrument they performed and the function it served in their band. For example many might put Neil Peart (such as me) as drums because he was constantly featured as a primary reason for the overall talent of the band. Likewise Eddie Van Halen was also a real crowdpleaser for showmanship with Eruption. Also, it's impossible to say who would combine well until you acually heard them together. Who knows? Ya might be surprised

Re: Who would make up the ultimate band?
Vocalist - Till Lindemann (Rammstein singer)
Guitarist 1 - Herman Li (DragonForce guitarist) Guitarist 2 - Jimmy Hendrix Bass Guitarist - Sam Bean (The Berzerker bassist) Synths - Whoever makes the funky techno sounds for Mindless Self Indulgence Drums - Gary Thomas (The Berzerker drummer) Kind weird, but it'd be cool to see them combine.
