Sorry I don't wanna spam Chit Chat with another computer related thread (maybe we should sticky one instead?) Anyway, I've had 2 iexplore.exe eating up my resources for a while now. When I close them in my task manager, they Immediately! open up again. I didn't open anything, this is when I first turn on my computer and I don't notice iexplore.exe is running unless I'm in my task manager. Really don't feel like registering/signing up for a online geek forum to find this out so maybe you guys could help, or... evilcowgod could at least ;D |

Boot in safe mode and run a virus check.

I hate you therapingdragon lol leave me alone
seriously though, I only have 512 ram so I need all the resources I can get! evilcowgod, which program should I use to do the virus check? I've already tried nortan, spybot, and ad-aware and the iexplore.exe is still there. |

sciron: You do know that iexplorer.exe is the process for Internet Explorer, right? Whatever, just post a HijackThis log and I'll take a look at it. I'll see if I can clear it out and maybe even shorten the list of programs you have that run on startup which you don't need running.
Also, if you want to, restart your computer and don't open anything. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and tell me if iexplorer.exe is running, OK?

I thought it would have to do with internet explorer too. But, the entries running are iexplore.exe not iexplorer.exe so that's what leads me to believe it's some sort of trojan or spyware. Here's what I mean.
![]() Also notice that 2 of them are open, any time I try to end process or end process tree, they come up again. And I restarted my computer and didn't open anything but they still come up. Last edited by sciron37; 04-15-2007 at 01:17 PM.. |
