Valid points you bring up, but I'm still not convinced to FULLY convert to spread/index/another playing style.

I play one handed mostly because, well, it's a challenge and it's a defining characteristic of myself. I know that one handed is a GIANT setback. I know several disadvantages about one handed playing.

My plans are probably going to involve: not abandoning one handed, learn spread, learn index, play in any style depending on the song. I play to have fun, not to get AAAA's and insane wtf full combos. Sure, those are some of the more "hells yeah" aspect of it, but I get entertainment from the challenge presented by playing with one hand.

I usually do "stuff" with my other hand while I play FFR with the other. Advantage you have that no 1 else will.

Lol..."Stuff". The only advantage of 1 hand is jumping jacks. Sometimes I do jumping jacks 1 handed, like in Strangeprogram.

Also, anyone who switches spread can reach Shashakiro's level in less then 2 years, definitely. It's not THAT hard, if you whore a lot.

I didn't mean to say one hand AAA's are bad...they just aren't as impressive as 2 hand AAA's.

Also, if I see ANY one hander better then me, I automatically call BS. Korny is the biggest BS ever.

I play one-handed.
I would really like to play other ways.
I'm so stuck on one-handed.

Hey, if I can find the file, and you give me a couple of months (keep in mind I said I'd have to get better than you first :P), no problem. It's a DEAL.

Depends. The best 2 hand AAAs are more impressive than the best 1 hand AAAs, even considering 1/2 hands. On the other hand(no pun intended), an AAA on a certain song is more impressive 1 hand than two. Air FC 1 hand would be amazing, Air FC 2 hands is common for top players.

I think there was another thread like this, but I like to play one handed sometimes to AAA <Standard songs, or just to simply have fun (because it is alot of fun)

"There Is a limit to how good you can get", not sure if this is true because I got beat by some level 23 using one hand on MP, it was kinda depressing lol

Oh yeah, and I also started this game playing with one hand, then one day got curious and switched to two.

Fine. Since there is no limit, I'm sure a 1 hander can AAA EHHS in time, right? I highly doubt that.

Some high levels suck, and some low levels are good. The high levels just play noobs. :P

honestly I don't care enough to switch, plus then I don't look as good as front of my friends if I'm using two hands, hahahaha. I could probably be preatty good at this game if I switched to two hands and started to try to learn it, but it's simply not as fun, I feel like I'm trying to be good, not enjoying myself when I do that.

P.S what is considered the best style if you want to get good? I'm just curios, might want to try it out somtime.

I completely agree that any one hander that switches to spread could do better than they could one handed. Hell, when I do index for fun I can do some songs better than I do one handed. ( LOL at me managing to FC playdoh on index )

As for Korny,. . . still waiting for that vid of I am Maid. . .

Ps.
If I'm right my beautiful honeyz Darkie-Sharkie Poo used to be one handed.

She's so . . . SO . . . !

Sorry for the double post but,

this wouldn't mean you're better than him, just better at one song. . .

Air FC isn't really that great w/ one hand. I only have a problem Iw/ one pattern that happens on Air. . . at least I did last time I checked.

Edit: Yea, only one pattern catches me off gaurd. It's the back roll with the 64ths? (the orange arrows)

[Rose] and Pretty Green Onions are both harder IMO.

Before I make my point, let's make it clear that playing songs well one-handed is clearly harder than playing songs well spread. Good? Good.

By this statement, do you mean to say that *hypothetically speaking* if a one-handed player AAA'd let's say, Etude To A Dragon - which is hard to AAA for one handers due to jacks inbetween 16th runs - it wouldn't be as impressive as a spread player, who has access to 8 different arrows to hit?

Alright you have like convinced me to give spread a go, but which fingers go where? It's all close together when i have 2 hands down there... NOTHING SUSS.... but which fingers go on which keys? At the moment, without knowing anything, i have left middle finger on up arrow, left pointy finger on left arrow, right pointy finger on down arrow and right middle finger on right arrow. Is that the norm or? I just watched Arch0wls video of Quasar on 150% speed and he only had his left pointy finger on left and down, so yeah, what do you guys use?

You know what, when my middle finger went out on CIA Rave, I started playing only with my index finger for my right hand. It's somewhat better because your fingers aren't fighting over a button giving more accurate presses. The only thing is you have to be faster with that finger. This is just me though.

I don't really care about who plays with what, I care about me and what I'm comfortable with. If some level 49 person plays with one hand, so be it. I don't think that makes that person per se better than the rest or most, but they may be faster with one hand than most (though I really don't see a person pfc with one hand on something like Flight of the Bumble Bee or something of the sort)

I personally find one-handed to be far more fun. Of course I realize the advantages of playing spread. I used it to pass songs like flight of the bumblebee, cia rave, molto vivace, etc, and it brought my overall rank from ~5.5k to ~4.5k, but since this game tends to be more about fun and less about maxing scores for me, i don't see any reason to use a method that is less fun for me.
