I need help on reading the arrows. :(

I've been playing DDR for 3 months now, every weekend! I'm pretty good I guess, I'm a standard player! Although I can play some songs on Heavy like "Butterfly" and such. I have trouble reading the arrows, especially the ones that are REALLY close... for example, the song "Can't Stop fallin' in Love" has those really close steps and fast too! I can't read it fast enough to step, I mean, if I memorized the song completely, then I could easily do them, but then again, I don't have time. Any suggestions? You guys think I should just keep playing and playing till I can read the arrows better? Or should I put it on 1.5x, but again, my problem is reading the close arrows because they go SO fast....

I can easily do the song "Bag" because its a slow song, but if it was fast, I wouldn't be able to do it!

you can easily do bag? *cough* and you're saying that you can't read arrows that are close together? *cough* Whatever anyhow, just start with songs that you can usually just barely pass on the regular settings, put the arrow speed on 2x, then when you get good with that, put it on x1.5 and work your way down til you get to 1x. it's what i did when i couldn't read arrows well too.

I can read the arrows if the song is slow. "Bag" is a really slow song, so I can pass it. Along with "A", if the song is slow, I can easily do it, but if its a fast paste song like "Can't Stop Fallin' in Love", then I can't because arrows move too fast.....

Thanks for the advice, maybe I should put it on 2x then work my way down!

Jack up the speed as much as you can (good keyboard players have no trouble reading 200bpm on 3x)
Trust me it helps a ton with reading arrows

No way especially not on heavy I can barely pass it on heavy.
For 1 its a 10 step. And 2 if u think cant stop fallin in love is close it only has as close as 1/16 steps while bag has a whole song full of 1/32 steps

ROFL 1/32 steps to a BPM of what? 60? kekeke...that just makes it seem like 1/16th...But yeah Cong, I really doubt that you can pass Bag when you say that you can't read arrows that are all clumped together. If there's one song with the biggest blobs of arrows that i can think of, it's Bag.

Go to DDRFREAK.com and look up the arrows for the songs and memorize them, another way to read the arrows is to watch them come up from the bottom of the screen instead of the top of the screen as you play! ^.-

ha ha I know someone who memorized Leading Cyber maniac lol, but he plays it backwards lol its really neat to watch. Yeah, I watch the arrows from between the bottom to the middle of the screen so I know what's comming up.

I found an arcade machine nearby~ but i can't find out what the step code for 2x speed is!!! i really need 2x speed! it helps me alot~ so if anyone knows the step code~ (steps you have to hit to activate 2x speed) could you reply >.o thx!

The step code is ........ HOLD START. It brings up options, and you can do all sorts of things there, and one is change arrow speed.
