Default I was bored, and I started to wonder...

Well, hopefully FFR is going to be around for quite awhile, right? Well, it won't be a flash game forever. Sooner or later the flash plugin will become obsolete, and we'll move to some other form of the game. So say in three years Synth rewrites it in Shockwave. Would it still be called "Flashflash" revolution, or would it change to "Shockshock" revolution or something?

My opinion is that it will certainly keep its name as by then it probably will have at least a million people in it, think of how far its gotten in the short time its been around. And when R2 comes out, a whole lotta people will come also.
edit: My point is, is that since so many people will of heard of it and it will better known, it will probably keep its name to avoid people forgetting the name, and your would have to change the address to the website.

its a good day to be alive,

Flash isnt dying off for a long, long time. Macromedia will make sure of that by releasing a new version with more capabilities every year or so.

Also note that Macromedia also makes shockwave, so there really isnt any competition between the two formats.

The flash plugin will never become obsolete. The reason is because it is so small, and therefore has an insanely large penetration rate(99.7% i think). AND flash is insanely easy to code in. to make an arrow move up every frame you just write
onClipEvent(enterframe) {
_y--
}
it's that easy. flash will never die.

Obviously, you don't so why would you post? Wow, that was a good question but I don't think that flash would become obsolete since of all the upgrades frequently. Also shockwave is also progressing with flash so.. we may not really know. Shockwave could soon enough be coded like flash, like SotN said, it is made from the same company so it could possibly become more or not alike at all.
