Which is exactly why most rhythm games won't work on DS. (Emphasis most since I know Elite Beat Agents works).

Guitar Hero, DDR, ITG, etc.

Unless they drastically alter gameplay, don't anticipate it any time soon.

The DS can support two points being touched at the same time. I know that from TC.

No, it's just like a laptop touchpad. It assumes you've let go of the first when you hit the second.

If you put a stylus on one point in Pictochat, and then touch another point on it at the same time, it will usually end up drawing a line between the two points (ending at the second point), and if you keep both points touched, it kinda flips out between the two.

I learn this the hard way -.- stupid other fingers accidentally touching and ruining my drawings!

Well, when putting bandage on your patient in trauma center you can use one stylus at the start and place another on the end of the incision, faster etc. That works :/

That draws a line between them. It is not dual-input.

Dual-input would be like putting both of your fingers on the screen at the same time and the system being able to recognize both inputs as separate.

Several devices can do this, but it's really hard. For the most part, touch screens can only be touched once. If you touch twice at the same time, it won't register anything.

Consider the fact that the iPhone is the first commercial device I've heard of that is actively pursuing dual-input as a means of user-control. And it's 2007 now. Touch screens have been around for... how long?

just use the d-pad and the buttons the touch screen could just be there for look, but that would defeat the purpose.

That's the DDR Lite screen when it's loading a simfile. The bad thing about DDRLite is that you have to restart your DS after every song.

How about you either choose if you want to use either the touch screen or the button controls (X=up, B=down, A=right, Y=left) as the the controls for the arrows.

whoah. that pic is SUPER-SHOPPED!
i can tell from some of the wrinkles, and from seeing many DDR pads in my time.

I tell you what they need on the DS- PSO.
Do some research. It would be "the bomb."

It would sort of defeat the purpose, but hey---it would be better than nothing. And besides, I know various DS games that hardly use the touch screen at all (ex. Mario Kart). I would still buy it.

Yeah.. it'd come with an extra special edition pen thing!
I have a DS of my own, and if you touch 2 places at once, it actually tyhinks that you touched a point in between those two. So if you'd do a "<>" jump, the DS would think that you touched the middle of the pad.

At least that's how it works on the o9ld DS, I'm not sure about DS Lite.

Oh, and plural of stylus is stylii.

Edit: Oh, Squeek said it first. GG.

Cool Re: Ddr For Ds

ok seriously

I don't think it matters if you can touch two spots at the sametime. If elite beats works then Konami has something to work with. Also Guitar hero is coming to the DS as well. It can and should be done, for the music games on the DS thus far have much to be desired for (especially if you are into DDR). Elite beats was great but let's face it, the music was terrible. I would much rather have and will probably get the japanese version.

Konami should join the makers of Guitar Hero and come to the DS.

If you have DDr for the PS2, it's possible to do jumps by pressing an arrow, and X, Square, Circle, or Triangle, at the same time. You can do the same for DS just by setting controls. Up + Y, Left + X, Down + B, and Up + A.

LOL
oh wait srs business

crap

Anyway, DDRLite looks retarded. Why would anyone want to get it? Also, if something like that was actually made for the DS, it would need to come with a second stylus if there were really fast songs.
Imagine, HDVO with two styluses...
