I'm working on a Wii music compilation. It's going to be a collection of all the music on the Wii's integrated software, including music within channels and splash music. Anyone interested? I've got a lot of .aup files right now that I just need to modify and compress. If all goes well I can have it done this weekend.

Oh, and just in case anyone is wondering, I'm doing this professionally. Component cables used with stereo audio, then a stereo headphone jack run from the TV directly to my laptop. I'll be compressing them to .mp3 format in either 192 or 256, I haven't decided yet. But, there's no mic; it's a fully digital process, so it's high-quality.

Wave files are mondohumongrous though. There's no need to keep it at that unless you have a very good reason...

Shox, I have the final release of LAME 3.97, which gets some amazing gain with great compression at standard bitrates. 256 should be more than enough, and that'll probably be what I'll use.

One anomaly my soundtrack will have: footsteps in the Mii Parade variations of the Mii Channel. I simply cannot delete the 150+ Miis just for this. That's all the trouble I foresee, though.

Oh, and jamuko, I'd like a little bit of "OBJECTION!" if you're able to send it over =P

Everything, Seth. All of the music, save miscellaneous sound effects.

I'm going to try to finish my recording today. I ran into some playback issues with a few of my splash recordings due to recording issues. I'm hoping that it's just due to volume levels. I'll try to compress it and get it up on a service that doesn't remove the package within a few days. I'll post the link as soon as I get compressions done (and that might not be tonight).

Maybe I should torrent it? Or does somebody have an upload service besides yousendit that I can use?

.ogg is less compatible, though. I'm thinking of maybe releasing the compilation as a torrent or a Galbadia Hotel upload and .mp3 is the way to go for that. Trust me, I've tested the final release of LAME 3.97 and the .inf is installed on my system. The quality and compression has come a long way since 3.96.1 and the quality loss, in my opinion, is unnoticeable from 256 and up. You have to be trying really hard to find losses in anything below 192 also.

All the recording is done, but filtering, cutting, and compressing is going to take me a while. Plus, I haven't been able to get the download music for the Forecast Channel or News Channel, and this pack will likely be released after the final version of the Internet Channel launches, which I suspect will have new or modified music. I will update the pack when opportunity arises. This isn't something I plan on dumping off =)

Brawl doesn't come out until "THE LAST DAY OF 2007", or so I have heard. But seriously, just buy a Wii. They're cheap and worthwhile. Buy zelda or something, that'll keep you entertained for a couple of weeks.
