Yeah, of course it sounds made up to you since you apparently don't understand it at all.

Go tell the story of Jesus to a tribe in the rainforest. They'd say it sounds made up, too.

And, since you apparently don't understand this either, being a noob is NOT good and you shouldn't be pretending that you like to be called a derogatory name.

Do any of you think Natural Selection, science, Evolution, or any other scientific proof that we indeed evolved sounds made up?

I think the idea of a magical invisible man floating around in the sky making things sounds made up.

Oh my word, I leave the thread for two days and it degenerates into this... I was having a lovely conversation with Reach where admittedly I was getting slightly owned, but meh, it was all in good humour, im just not much of a debater.
Well have fun being weird you guys...

Oh god. This thread is horrible. Both tugz and Chocaholic are being idiots. Neither can see the other side of the situation, both call anybody who disagrees with them an idiot, and worst of all neither really has anything to contribute. Plus, I'm sensing UUA.... I know she says she's 13 but I have a hard time believing it.

Chocaholic: Everybody believes that what they believe is true. That is why they believe it. Stating that your belief is the true belief is just arrogant. Think about it: of the 6 billion+ people in the world, all of them disagree on various subjects. Now, do you think it's very likely, at all, for your opinions to be the only "right" ones? Do you really think that you are 1 in 6 billion? Do you think you're better than everyone else? Unique and having special circumstances that make you always right? Because to claim that your beliefs are the correct beliefs is to basically say you are the only one on earth with their head screwed on straight. That's a really, really, REALLY far stretch. So think about it. It's extremely unlikely that you are correct about everything.

Which means that it's highly likely that you, and everyone else in this thread, is wrong about whatever they're trying to say they believe.

My personal opinion: Christianity is a widely-held belief in North America because it's nice and easy to believe for simple-minded people. It reassures them and gives them confidence. It allows them to not be afraid of death, knowing that, since they have accepted Jesus as their personal saviour, they will go to heaven and have a fantastic afterlife. And, arguably, most of all, it gives them many, many scapegoats: anybody who doesn't believe the same as them. People love a good scapegoat, or a few million scapegoats.

Tugz: This is critical thinking. Shut up or get out.

Good retort. I am not going to continue replying, because this isn't contributing to the thread.

Age is pretty irrelevant chocoholic. Also, Arguing against evolution doesn't support creationism. Evolution does happen. It does. Why is it inconceivable that things evolved from one to to others?

As to where live comes from on Earth, there a several theories as to how it started. Most involve the heat from the earth and amino acids forming proteins, then to cells.
