*Sigh*

I remember when my parents wouldn't answer any of my questions (e.g. "What does [word] mean?") until I looked for the answers and couldn't find them.

I now appreciate those days. Maybe if I do that with my kids, they'll learn to be less dependent.

I know what you mean, but I hate when teachers say if you don't know how to spell a word, go look it up in the dictionary.

If you can't spell it, how are you gonna find it? Besides, we are in the generations of computers, and now we depend on computers. I've found myself much more dependent on the spelling checker on Word and whatnot, and my spelling is going down the drain.

That was a bit longer then planned.

EDIT: I did that because of his spelling. I wasn't sure if he could do it himself.

Well, as far as the dictionary thing goes, when we're looking up words, we're supposed to make assumptions of what the word is spelled like (Which the kid from khanni has obviously failed to do).

And I'm not sure if all the spell-checking software is degrading our spelling skills or not, but it does help prevent mistakes a whole lot quicker.

"God, how do I spell this word!?.........Got it! *posts* Goddamnit! Ninja'd again!"
