I agree 100% with what hi19 said.

I really do enjoy hard stuff. I hate it when files are just technical index stream. For example, I really like ggc and ehhs etc

Yeah, sorry, no. You certainly don't represent the majority when you say that you like EHHS, Crowd, etc. The reaction in general to those files was VERY negative, and we aim to please the masses, not the odd people who like FFR jacks or massively overstepped files.

You mean a "hard" file, not an "original" file. And yes, it's hard to make a file that's both good and hard. Find music that merits a hard file (like Rottel, for instance), and you can make a good hard file. Try to throw random extra jumps in on every 4th beat in a stream (like EHHS) just to make it harder and it usually comes out bad.

If the file is well-done, we don't have problem with jacks that fit with the melody. Honestly, a TON of people hate jack syndrome to the point where they refuse to play FFR files that have jacks in them (or whine nonstop about it, like Baha)...it's a pretty tiny minority that actually finds jack-infested stuff fun.

See the above about hard stuff/jacks. As for the rest, BB Revenge has them all and we accepted it without question. It's just that we VERY rarely get files that properly use patterns like that, and FAR more often they're just randomly thrown into streams for no particular reason.

Patterns like 4244.. don't look good for me either unless they go with the music well(I don't know much about the music).
some of those will be 4 frame jacks, which are somewhat jacky on ffr.

Talisman's main point was that the song was only 106BPM. 16th anything at that slow of a BPM shouldn't be a problem. Right?

the highlighted part I've posted above starts at :46 (it's the bassline solo) and ends at "hey! hey!" (at the end of measure 32). EDIT: actually just kidding it's the second of the two measures after the first "hey! hey!"... not like it matters, they're identical.

People complain to Tass because normally, he's the one posting about it.

I can't enter this conversation right now because I'm at school, but I honestly think you and Tass don't know what you're doing. Judging stuff this strictly is so very stupid, rejecting files for ONE thing.

Tass has probably never made a simfile in his life, so he can only judge by how fun the file is to him, and Shash, I don't know. You've made sims, so you have SOME experience. Neither of you are really qualified to make the decisions you're making.

What does making files have to do with anything? We're both verterans gameplay-wise, and IMO that's all that matters.

That's like saying that only people who make music should be qualified to judge what good music is, or that only people who are painters are qualified to judge what a good painting is.

Jack's are the funnest things ever in my opinion when used well, such as get ready to rokk and neo max, and things like that.

Absolutely. I can tell you almost every single F'ed-up file on here.

Want proof?

Abtrusity: Mostly solid, but apparent 12th jacks in a few spots mar the quality.
Deep Breath: Pair of double-off jacks suck.
X-Dreamer: Too many jacks. FC'ing it is often like a coin flip.
EHHS: Need I say more.
Silence: WTF is up with this "jump syndrome?"
BBHR: Off-sync, song is awful IMO.
Stalled Out and Sushi Bars: Jacks near the beginning are confusing.
Terror from Beyond: Horribly off-beat, and the jack near the 2/3 mark of the song
Legend of Zelda: Another off-beat mess.
100BB: Off-beat, WAY too close together on the jacks.
FF7BB: Jacks and off-beat slightly.
Crystalis HL Mix: Jacks and such.
OMW, Caprice, Molto: Horribly (over)stepped.
NeoMAX: Well, not so much this one... except for the BG and the jacks.
P4u: Jacks, BG video, syncing.
Delirium: Steps are fine, they just clash with the blue BG...

It goes on and on. And I've been here 17 months less than Shash, and... 42 months less than Tass.

If you play this game enough, you can find mass fault in a file and point it out like there's no friggin' tomorrow. Right, Shash, Tass?
