I'll have to replay it to see if I accidentally put real jacks in there... but a double tap at 106 that goes to the music (aka it's the same note twice in a row) is not a jack.

two 16ths in a row is still aaa'able, right.
its kind of like the 8th jacks at 200bpm in strangeprogram. it is hard to get perfects on, but it is possible. correct? |

![]() Omfg, the 16th jacks are now replaced with 8th jacks. 8th jacks are always easy, so accept = true;.

I don't know the math to convert to flash frame rate, but I'd assume so. It's easy as hell in sm.

112.5 bpm+ triggers short-jack syndrome
150+ is potentially un-AAAable anything higher essentially means accept = false; EDIT- thats for 16ths. If you dont know how to convert 8th jack BPMs to 16th jack BPMs, go back to kindergarten

Tass, I sent you HELLBEAT V2, it's pretty difficult.
Oh, so, do I still have a chance of getting it in?

I'm assuming this is the offending part in question... but I don't really know what tass means by "first" through "fourth" sets, since there are little double taps scattered throughout the file.
![]() Are those really considered jacks? |

Unfortunately, by the strict rules Tass and Shash seem to love to abide by, they are. Admittedly, they do start to get hard to AAA, and that's freaking annoying on something like Coat Czech when you have a AAA and you get avmissed. So... yeah if at all possible, try not to use them because they can be annoying.

Well, that would seem to be ok.
I would certainly accept those jacks. I wasn't sure if it was like 175 BPM or something crazy like that.

It isn't that big of a deal if you just make them quick taps.

I don't know why songs like Coat Czech, GGC, etc. made it into FFR with jacks galore, while this song at 106bpm is being rejected. I made a song that was 115bpm and had similar patterns to Coat Czech and the file was rejected. Hate to say it, but I think I'm seeing DOUBLE STANDARDS here.
hint hint: be a bit more flexible Tass AND Shash(lol) please. Last edited by bmah; 02-14-2007 at 11:27 PM.. |

to be fair it's not being rejected outright.
I'm curious though if maybe tass played it on shuffle or something because there aren't really demarcated "sets" of "jacks" anywhere. |

Of course, I'm trying to have Hi19 only have 10 songs in the queue.

GGC was just supposed to be hard as balls so the jacks weren't a problem
Coat was back when we weren't as picky also I like how you guys yell at Tass for everything when sometimes it's not even him but me who's rejecting the stuff lol ps hi19 just sends in huge numbers of files, probably more than half went through revisions because they were rejected at first, there really aren't double standards at all rofl

Well, if Hi19 sends in that many files, then I'm ok with it.
But it still is a lot.

at least tell me what you mean by the first, second, third, and fourth sets of jacks. I'd rather not make some things gallops because it just fits the music better as a double tap, and is AAAable either way. Other things I could change.

Still, as I said, keep an open mind to different simfiles; try not to be biased on some arrow patterns that are "too exotic" for your tastes (but it still should be doable). |

My only problem with the current level admins (note: plural) is that it's getting a bit too strict. I really like some files such as coat czech and etude to a dragon and even (gasp) crowdpleaser and EHHS, all back from that era when "we weren't as strict"
It's getting to the point where it's hard to make an original file, as everything is either "doesn't flow", "omg jacks", or "overstepped". It'd be really cool if you guys could be a bit more open minded. Sure they may be harder to AAA with 130 bpm jacks, but what if the file is fun? It's starting to seem almost as if you are rejecting files just becuase of the probablity that they'll make your levelrank go down becuase you can't AAA them or score well. NEWSFLASH: Some people like hard stuff! Some people like jacks! Some people like trills and running men, especially when they are put in the correct ****ing places and lead to a FUN file. Also, I'm still kind of annoyed over BrightOne needing to be revised. That's my #1 example of you two being just way too ****ing picky. EDIT- also, yes I've stepped a lot of songs. If you have a problem with that, step them better yourself. I don't have a problem with people trying to outdo me, but I do have a problem with whiney little ****s.
