I haven't used it in a conversation in two words. I especially hate when people say something stupid and lol about it. "i didnt get 2 sleep til 5! lol! isnt that funny!!" No. Shut up. Go away.

I never use chatspeak. I despise it.

I've actually never willingly used "lol" in my life.
I think there's about 16 others like me in the world. |

I never use "lol", but I can't really complain because I'm just as guilty with things like "XD". :/

I hardly use chat speak acronyms anymore and when I do "lol" I will type "lol".
I'm really heavy on the smileys when I'm chatting on line. Pretty much every other line I type is accompanied by a smiley depicting my mood. It's just something I feel that is very important while chatting on AIM or anywhere on the Internet. A lot of the things we save have very little meaning by themselves and usually, we need things such as tone of voice and body language to portray our message better. You can hardly tell the difference between srs and serious business here, one such example is Guildo's and Chromer's argument in the Stairs thread in the GBin. Here's an example: "STOP >=[" is different from "Stop. =\" and is different from "Stop. =]". ~Tsugomaru |

I don't like it, so I use it in extremes for comedic effect, such as lolololololololol or omgomgomgomgomg. For the same purpose, I sometimes verbally say "lol" as well.

Eep, I have a horrible habit of using "lol" and smilies. When I'm on AIM, I lollerskate at pretty much everything, and I don't even realize it. >__<
