Good job. And what do you listen to? Some untalented MTV band I'm guessing. Honestly. Anyone can whine like a bitch in some emo song, anyone can play simple Green Day guitar riffs, anyone can be like Ashlee Simpson and sing horribly but let a computer alter their voice until it sounds half decent. Not just anyone can write, sing, and play guitar for all of their songs like Alexi Laiho, or play double bass as fast as Josh Kulick. And I can't think of many guitarist I can compare to Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce. And you're probably going to skim through this post with the notion in your head that I'm some ignorant asshole, when in reality you don't know me at all. Whatever the case, we probably listen to music for different reasons. I listen to it for talent, and god knows what the **** you listen to it for. |

Re: starting something!
I see what you're saying there, Panda, and surely there is a lot of crap screamo/metal/what-have-you bands out there. However, there's a huge difference between "I'ma scream into this thingy here with the volume up!" and good music [good being subjective, as it always is in music.] For example, take Showbread's debut CD "Age of Reptiles." While it had good guitar and drums, the screaming was about as good as that eight-year-old's in the video. With somebody like Underoath, though.. There's some good screamo. While it may be screaming, it's not at all abrasive to the ears, and while it's primal and extremely emotional, there's still a strange smoothness to it..
I respect your opinions of not liking metal and the like [and I appreciate other music too, especially classical], but please don't say that all of it is bad. |

Re: starting something!
My most played list can show some of it... Although this is my brother's computer so I only have like 500 songs on it... Also Hammerfall, Avantasia, and Dream Theatre are ridiculous. |

Re: starting something!
I'm not going to lie, 99% of screamo and the "hardcore" **** requires almost no talent to play or write. Anyone who has a good basis in Music Theory understands this. I also play guitar, which means I know about general riffs.
Also, I recommend you shut the fuck up when you are addressing a moderator. I swear people get so defensive when it comes to music. Not everyone is going to agree with your perspective, you don't have to outlash when they give harsh crit. Chill out. |

Re: starting something!
Wtf. I don't listen to screamo OR hardcore. I listen to Metal. And I'm very passionate about music so of course I'm going to argue about it. And I'll prove a point if I feel the need to.
