Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
I don't like the look of eyebrow piercings myself, but your family is being goddamned stupid about it. Just ignore them back. For a little while after they come around, too.

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
Well all your suggestions are very interesting. What if I just impaled myself on a wooden spike? Yeah awesome.

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
Tongue piercings are cool. Would your parents be even more mad
at that? If I had pierced my eyebrow and my parents reacted like that I would just take it out. That's the kind of kid I am. |

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
DO you really know what you should do? Get another peorcing anywhere you want but tell your parents when their not paying attention to you at all( like when thier in a conversation with someone else). Get the peircing. Then if your parents get mad, tell them that you told them you were getting another one.
P.S. If they get pissed, ignore em' ur 18 dammit!!

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
Look, parents for the best part are protective of their children. They don't like to see anything out of the ordinary.
You could have done anything, tattoo, new girlfriend, piercing anywhere else, new hairstyle that is "different". Your parents would still probably react like that. It's just them caring about you, but they'll drop it eventually and be fine with you. Give them a little time. |

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
Never get the eyebrow done. I mean, ...Selective people, sure. I emphasize warning to you though. They migrate over time so if it's placed midsection on your eyebrow, it often over a while moves down the brow and if you wait far too long can cause blindness although, most people take action BEFORE that happens. But, yes they could ignore you just for that which in turn if pretty stupid but, human. Be glad it wasn't a subdermal, otherwise I'm sure it'd be worse.

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
So it's been about 48 hours since my mother has willingly spoken to me. She won't even look at me. My father is at least talking to me. He usually plays the good guy role.
I'm leaving tomorrow for a road trip to Virginia so at least I won't have to deal with this BS. |

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
Im sure if I got anything pierced or tatooed my parents would pull the "not under my roof" bit. They'd be allright if i didnt live with them.

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
...and it really isn't that bad. This is actually the second time I've had it done (first time I was forced to take it out). Both times it was just a hard pinch and my eyes got a little teary. Getting your naval and even the cartilage in your ear pierced for example is a little more painful....in my opinion at least. Last edited by Rubin0; 01-19-2007 at 12:51 AM.. Reason: typos |

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
I was expecting to see nacrotic flesh and such. You disapoint me ._.
As for the topic at hand, it's a minor issue; if it's an issue at all. You are 18; thus, independant to make one's own descisions whether they be good or bad. If your family wishes to show unapproval, show unapproval back. Argue the point that your body is your domain. I have never understood a parents philosophy regarding "While you are in this house, you will be however we want you be crap." In conclusion, if they won't accept you for such a matter, it somewhat tells you the environment you may or may not be living in. I suppose I am saying it is not a condusive living arrangement. n_n Ps. I got pierced in a lot of places. As a result, my family pretty much disowned me; I left. I was, like, pssh! walks out door. I have never been back. |

Re: Pierced eyebrow. Big trouble.
This makes me desire piercings in weird places. Someone send me some money to get me pierced!
Btw, like everyone else said, you could move out or just have a little heart-to-heart chat with them and kindly tell them off.
