Got Permission From User Starshot, who uses the name /DJS\ for his work. He's not bad at all, and his "Absent of Light" is very good. Anyway, Proof for legal reasons:

I salute you for your professionalism. It's almost sureal actually having someone approach me about this about my music.

Name the song you want to step and be in FFR, and I'll be happy to grant permissions for it. Getting a song in FFR is actually one of my dreams as an artist, it's one of the things that's inspired me to become a music artist.

With that note, I can't wait to see the results of the entire escapade. You don't realize how psyched I'd be.

I haven't heard from any of the other artists yet. (SSH, onoken, or Silvia) I need to email a few more Japanese artists.

This week I'm going to try getting Jpop artists, even though it will probably be REALLY REALLY HARD

you can explain that:

a) we have over 1 million members.
b) for every song we add to the game, we have a main page news story. in that story, we link to the artist's webpage. that story is seen by our million members.
c) within 1 month, EASILY 10,000 unique members will play the file associated with the song. aka, 10k people will listen to their song. after 6 months, likely 50k users will have played it. some of our songs that have been on the site for 4 years have over 400,000 plays by unique users.

all for free.
