![]() I know that whatever your comfortable with if fine, but is there really a certain type of shoes
that enables you to play DDR at your best? I've mostly seen people in my area use skating shoes, and even saw one guy bought a pair just for this tournament. If shoes does matter when it comes to DDR, then which type of shoes would be effective for greater game play?

![]() Any kind of running shoe.
In all seriousness, it's your skill level and nothing more. Once you move from toe to flatfoot you'll realize that the shoes you normally wear are better than anything.

Actually I find it quite difficult to play with running shoes. Those spikes at the bottom tend to throw you off due to its minimum traction.

Agreed, flat bottom shoes do have the most traction from my experience. Although they're not the best when it comes to speed, but they're the next best thing.

When I first played DDR, I did it flat footed. I sucked really bad. I switched to toes. I got better faster. Obviously, I'm no where near "pro", especially after not playing for so long, but how could flat footed be any better, unless you were to play in the style where your feet are always over the buttons and you never actually move around? ps skateboarding shoes are the best shoes to wear in all instances in everyday life, including mild running/"dancing".

![]() My friend always played on his toes and he uses air jordan shoes every time. He says that skateboarding shoes tend to get "too loose" and throw him off beat. Oh well, I guess if you play flat foot skateboarding shoes are the way to go.
I've rarely seen anyone in my area play on toes so I'm not sure if sport shoes are the best for that technique.

![]() Typical skateboarding shoe: ![]() Are they really that much different? Hell, if Air Jordans were cheap, I'd love to skate in them (if I even still skated rofl). That ankle support is probably kick ass once you get used to it.

![]() jordans are too heavy and reduce the speed at with u can move.
pumas are light, offer great traction and has a cool logo. |

Those sport shoes do to tend to add some weight and really get annoying once your start to lose stamina.
Hmm... I wonder how DDR would be like with those Heely shoes?

That reminds me. I went to the Sahara Casino when they first got SuperNova. I was so pumped up. It was a brand new machiene, shiny metal pads, and all the fancy new songs. I went to play the first song, and my shoes were like sticking to the metal because it was new and I had way too much traction. It made me sad.
