Default In the market for a dance pad

Ok, I know theres like 30 posts on people asking which pads are the best.. and I read all of them that I could find.. but to those of you with pads can you please be a bit more specific with the pros and cons of your pads.. I'm thinking I'll buy a pad and it wont be compatible or I'll think it comes with a ps2-usb converter and it wont.. something.. So please give me a little review on what kind of pad you have, if it comes with converter, if its completly compatible with stepmania, anything information you think would be useful.. it's for my birthday so money wise I'm not too worried cause if they wont buy it ill make them give me cash and I'll go buy it myself.. I dont want to buy a whole machine but I can spend a few hundred if it's going to be worth every penny of it.. Thanks

-edit-

the one ive been looking at the most is the Cobalt Flux for $300
im just wondering if its worth the money..
and I'm wondering if I need some kind of special adapter for it to work on my PC?
and is it compatible with SM?

Yeah I was looking at that one as well.. kinda wondering if the foam is really that great.. seems like a fluffy soft pad to me.. Just dont really see how foam would do that great with me and my friends jumping up and down on it.. My mom was just looking at that $300 cobalt flux one too and she says we may be able to do that after she gets her check.. so I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about that pad?

-edit

I just looked on ebay and found two that seem like they are pretty good deals..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3074821018

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=21185

If yall wouldnt mind, would someone check those out and tell me if they can see anything wrong with me getting one of those?
Saving quite a bit of money.. but im kinda under the impression that i'll be getting what i pay for if I do..

and that 2nd one says its 70lbs.. yeesh.. im a weakling ill probably have to get someone to bring it in my room for me lol

oooh but id get those cool flashy led lights when i stomp on it! eee!

theres lots of these pads on ebay and I dont want to trust any of them cause they all say theyre the best more durable most accurate most shiny pads out there.. but i say its all lies >_>

helpppp meeeee

another thing my mom was just asking.. do retail stores like bestbuy or circuit city sell this kind of things? im thinking they may have some of the cheaper soft crappy ones but i dunno about one of the heavy duty kind.. cause shipping on this is gonna probably cost quite a bit too..

I'll tell you about the foam inserts.

The foam insert parts connect together like a square puzzle.

Then you zip open the pad and slip it inside.

The foam is very stiff and dense.

I think Red Octane's Metal Pad for $200 is the best.
