I just hope whatever tomorrows file is, isn't garbage. I can deal with doing proficient stuff but if there is no excuse for random difficulty, i'll have to go ape-**** on someone.

I was responding to your comment, not to anything Tass said.

Your file and GGC are not comparable. GGC is engineered to be insanely hard throughout the song. Yours is hard for about 3 seconds total, but stupidly stupidly hard for those 3 seconds.

Every single time you bring up GGC to try to excuse putting horrid jacks in a file, I bring this up, and you've never had a decent response to it.

ps-Whether or not it's easy to you is incredibly irrelevant, by the way--this applies to any simfile author, but ESPECIALLY you. From what I know of you, you are INSANELY INSANELY INSANELY abnormal when it comes to jacking/trilling vs jumpstream/stream/other--you have to understand that you're as good at or even better than me at those aspects of the game, and I can SDG SM songs that you have a hard time AA'ing.

Tension is probably one of the most funnest songs on FFR imo..

Wow. In my three years playing this game off and on, I've rarely posted on these forums. However, Tension more than merits stopping by. It is my favorite ITG song/stepchart, and it's incredible to be able to play it on FFR. Thanks for this amazing update.

Tension is definitely out of my range to play well. With a little practice, I think I may get the easier parts, like the 8ths with the occasional 16th or two thrown in at the start, but that's about it. I had some trouble hearing those 16ths, but maybe it's just the quality of my laptop speakers. Things sound a bit better in headphones. I basically mashed like crazy just to pass the song, and barely did it. I was 1 miss/boo away from failing at a pause, and I was sure I was going to fail. But somehow I got through it and passed, but with 5 more boos than perfects. :P I won't be playing this one that much, mainly because it's just too hard for me right now, and it hurts my arm to play it. If tomorrow's song is even harder, I expect I'll mash like crazy again, but not be able to pass. Surprises for days 11 and 12? I'll have to check them out.

It may be a while though because I'm going home for the holidays tonight and won't be on the internet as much.

Tension feels very similar to Delerium, except for a few minor differences.
1. 8th jacks. I don't know if I like them, but they fit well with the music
2. Better (read: index-friendly) patterns. Whoo.
3. Shorter
4. More fun to play.

Overall, good.
I cannot wait to see how BS this file Shash is getting all worked up over is going to be.

EDIT- Also, what does that voice say twice in the song? It sounds like "listen", but of course it could also be "tension".

8th jack is a pattern like LLLLLLLLLLLLL or DDDDDDDDDD, with red and blue arrows.

Eight notes can't be called jacks unless the bpm is at least 220-240?

Generally the point at which jacks start to become more of a jack rather than a repeated 8th note pattern is about around 150 or so I'd say, depends on how good you are at jacks.

Heh.

For many (if not most) of you, your wait will be in vain anyway.

Tass is getting back around 1:30 or so, so expect it around then.

Also...I expect lots and lots of whining. I didn't get nearly enough for GGC, although this is way easier.
