Horizon seems pretty good. It feels like there are a few main patterns, but they come in smaller pieces that change up often enough to keep me thinking. Unfortunately, this is out of easy FC range for me because I'm not a great player. With a bit of practice, I'm fairly sure that I will get it. I just need to get a bit more familiar with the patterns and changes in the song. It's not *too* hard for my fingers, as I can hit most of it, but getting them all isn't working for me right now and I'll get frustrated if I keep trying and screwing up.

Since the songs are supposed to be getting harder over the 12 days, and we're already half way up the difficulty scale, I don't imagine I'll be getting many more FCs, if any at all. I think I can get this one (Horizon), and maybe one more if it's a similar difficulty, but it looks like that'll be it for me. Oh well, hopefully the songs will be good and fun to play even if I'm still bad at them.

Edit: Got it. I gave it another try after a little break, and FCed it. It's not a great score, and hopefully I can improve it with some more practice, but at least I got the FC. That gives me a bit more hope at doing well (for my ability) on the next song, so I feel a bit better now.

Dronak: the next 3-4 will all be in the 2-3.5 range... I'm just trying to mix in different sounds, different artists, different stepfile authors... i don't want any 2 in a row to be too similar.

expect more from JX... as I said, I've had 2 of his files in my normal queue for a while now, and he's writing me up another specifically for this 12 days of FFRmas. So there will be at least 1 more JX file.

Ah, OK. That's reasonable, mixing things up to keep it fresh. I know you or someone said they wouldn't all necessarily be exactly in difficulty order. I guess I just didn't expect to see them bop around too much on the low end.

From what you said, it sounds like there's a relatively even spread across difficulty levels. About half of the songs go from 1-3.5, and the other half from about 3.5-6. That's good. Thanks for the heads-up on the rough difficulty of coming songs. I should have a few more chances at FCs than I thought. (FWIW, high 3 to 3.5 and up is out of my FC range right now.)

I guess I can say it.... tonight's song will be easier than Horizon...

and, I was the one to say that they wouldn't be going in exact order from easiest to hardest... we're doing the easier songs first and the harder songs last... but at the same time, we're trying to mix things up so that nobody has 2 files released in a row... which is not all that easy of a task.

pmser - stay in PMS forum.

Easy, but good songs so far. I look forward to the next ones!

How difficult are they going to get?

So you didn't bother letting us try it untill you AAA'd it eh?

Anyways, I'm partial about the song. It's kind of weird and cluttered IMO here and there. Horizon seemed more organized. 17 goods 1 ave 2nd try and I decided to give up untill tomorrow. Super tired right now. Had to wait extra long for this one.

Alright file. Cool song.

I would've stepped a few parts differently, but not bad overall. Took way too many tries to AAA because I kept getting lulled to sleep by the 8ths and then screw up some random pattern.

I just played it once so far, but Kick It seems pretty good, too. Arrows seem to match the melody pretty well, which I always enjoy. (In some songs it's hard for me to hear where arrows match notes, and those are always more troublesome for me.) The normal 8th note pattern is pretty easy to handle, but the 16th note patterns thrown in there now and then give me something to watch out for. For me, the speed is high enough that the 16th note patterns can be a little tricky, but I was getting at least some of them. From my one play, I think I've got a chance to FC this, but it will probably take some work if I am able to do it. I need to become more familiar with the location of the 16th note patterns, because those are the hardest part for me. I got 8 misses on my first play. I'm not a great player, and I can't sightread FFR songs very well (I'd probably be better at sightreading piano music). I'll try it some more later and try to improve. I've got some things to do first though. Later. And thanks for adding more songs that are closer to my range -- many of the song of the week entries have been too hard for me.
